[Council] Community Awards: final results

Final results for Community Awards have been published.
Congratulations to all winners!

There is a final result, please check the Wiki list.

In order to receive the prize, it's mandatory that all awarded create an account at Nokia Developers. Once created, you need to add your postal information to your profile (otherwise Nokia won't know where to send the device).

Then we need to know your Nokia Developer ID (the login name at Nokia Developers that you have created). All the winners will receive a notification email, please respond to council@maemo.org including the following data:
- Full name
- ID at Nokia Developers
- email address.

Please send this data before next Monday, June 25th, as we need to provide the full list to Nokia to start sending the devices.

Thanks to everyone for participating and for your contributions to Maemo.org. We will need you more than ever in the following months, please keep your level of involvement with the community.

And who exactly from the council does not deserve his award?

Didn't say that way, but if you started, i would say that there are people in list i know that made a huge contribution for harmattan and maemo lattely, so you say they do not deserve too? My point was that is you take responsibility to choose winners, adding yourself in list might be not ethic.

See my post on http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=85005 :D

That seems to be fixed as I registered a new account just an hour ago (for the gods sake I couldn't remember what the username of my old account is)

Can't wait to hear about what's coming down the pipe from these winners... we got so much from the prior N950 winners.

I'm sure it will invariably be the same in this batch. Congrats.

Community awards is for past services to the community, not for promises of future services.

What did you miss that was promised from those that got N950?

CONGRATS to YOU!
Thanks for your great work and for keeping this sneak habitat alive!

Being slightly OT, but in regards of this thread... Is there something similar to this for WP 7.x?
If not, we should have an aswer there...

Keep on keepin' on!

Thanks for that clarification. Congrats regardless to those winners.

Whomever said I missed anything? I was being congratulatory. You're reading something else apparently.

Please accept my apologies, I must have mixed you with some of the others who've been vocal about the people receiving N950's.

Past tense, I had questioned it. Developers like Marxian and the like spoke up, stated that this forum isn't the best place for developer information in regards to what they were doing.

However, in recent months, there's been plenty of updates and new apps coming out as well as many tweaks.

Apology accepted. I truly can't wait to see what some of the folks do/say with their new devices. Some of them should have already had them, in my opinion.

Who's Matan Ziv-Av (matan), and why his latest post in this forum is from January 2011? Why he deserves a N950 as now as today more than e-yes?

geneven 2012-06-21 01:36

Re: [Council] Community Awards: final results

I think Matan richly deserved an award for past services over the years. Estel, on the other hand -- I think he is mainly great for things he is trying to do now, and for contributions in the Talk department.

And the Council? Well, you win, you deserve loot, right? I'm sure they won't be grateful just because Nokia gave them valuable gifts...

IMO the council did the right choice :) congratulations all winners !
and i think the problem there were not enough devices for all who deserve :)

His submission detailing (some of) his contributions was posted to the mailing list and is linked in the wiki page, same as everyone else's. Recent posts on the forum where never among the selection criteria. Are you deliberately ignorant or just trolling?

Indeed :) If you've missed out on a community award please have a think about our friendly coding competition. New members, older members, beginners to app development - you're all welcome to join in. I'll also be expecting applications from our new community champions to support our community coding competition ;) Roll up, roll up!

Congratulations, to all winners. You all deserve it!

Whoa, I just checked my email today, and it seems that I'd won a N9.

This is awesome, thanks Council!

Now that we've got that over with, is anybody else curious as to what color these N9s come in? So far I know they're 16GB, but that won't matter as I'd be pushing media from my storage behemoth N900.

Congrats Hurrian :) I believe they are all black - no magenta for you!

Of course I took a look to the submission, and no, I am not trolling.
I'm talking on giving a N950, wich is, remember, a Harmattan development kit. And sure he did valuable contributions to the maemo community in the past, but honestly, i think the device will be in better hands of a dev who actually target & develops to the platform, like e-yes, than a guy who made Diablo/N810 submissions 2 years ago.

And I say this with all the respect for him and his contributions.

Actually to develop to harmattan, you need device for that, and even with some issues with community, back of time on N900, Matan contributed a lot. So i hope he would get one as fast as possible so we'll get tweaks and hacks from him =)

Let's say at least there are still members on the list of winners who really deserve it, and i think he is the one of those, on other hand ....

Nope, only 4/5, so it's ... *sarcasm_mode :D* random, and those like e-eyes, rzr, itsnotthatbigtruck and others who ported things, developed and reverse engineered, contributed to community, just without too many attention around, quietly talking on IRC instead of mailling lists, with only few announcement threads on TMO, they probably do not deserve :p

Stop spreading FUD please. I am Council, and did not even put my name into the hat for a device, yet alone receive one. If you can't be bothered to find actual facts and prefer to lie, that's fine. But don't do it here.

No way it looks right and if you read the posts on here you will see , i was having a joke woody OK and i hope they all do something worthwhile with what they won, don't argue with me woody i actually congratulated you on getting elected if you read my posts ok.

PS i was actually thinking they went to the right people because if anyone is to do some good it would be members of the council ! maybe all of you should get one for the efforts you have all made to get elected in the first place.

NO woody not fud ok.

You lied, and insinuated that all Council got devices when it was not true. Sorry, but to me that is a lie designed to stir up trouble, which makes you a liar and what you said FUD. But then anyone who's had a conversation with you knows that you lie regularly.

Again, if you want to spend your life telling lies and having people never believing anything you say, you go right ahead and live that life. But I don't want or need the "support" or congratulations of such people.

WOW your a member of the council and you talk like this to the members ????? good start woody your doing well so far aye !.

Remember everyone will read your posts and this is not the way a council member should talk, i would be very surprised if Reggie don't say something over this !.

What? Itsnotabigtruck, wolke, schturman, rzr, e-yes, and others deserved devices. These are people that are truly involved with Harmattan.

The only person I saw that got a device he deserved that already had one was Mohammadag.

fCrochik had one and vi_ got one too, I have no argument with these people either.

Who the rest of these people are in regards to Harmattan is beyond me and I have been actively involved in IRC, maemo.org, fmc, and other Harmattan related places.

This was a rigged process and we all know it woody.

I couldn't care less about the council members getting a device, that was mentioned in the mailing list, but people that have been helping Harmattan from the start should have gotten them. This is absolutely ridiculous that certain people in the community didn't get one.

I would like some explanation as to why certain individuals that did nothing for the harmattan community were given devices that they didn't deserve?

It wasn't about harmattan-only contributions, it was about general community contributions. These devices were for people who has done alot for the community in general, not specifically harmattan development. It was meant actually for non-coders too which helped the community with different things (eg packagetesting)
