For the record, I do not have any kind of work affiliation with Nokia anymore and haven't had for several months which means I do not have any Nokia source codes and it would be obscenely against professional ethics to release those if I did have those, as well as illegal.

As I've repeatedly said, the N900 hardware adaptation team for MeeGo (as paid and contracted by Nokia, under NDAs) had access to needed source codes (a limited set) in order to do our work in order to bring MeeGo to N900, N950 and N9. These source codes could never be released for many good reasons. This has been explained over (even in very laymans terms) and over to abill_uk and he hasn't gotten the point or understood anything.

The work we did back then is making sure we can still release Nemo and Mer-based systems for N900, N950/N9.

I'm here as a community member these days and not happy about seeing this place go down in flames. But talking about source codes.. well, let's just say that it's too damn late. IMHO.

I've gone on to help create a better way to make open platforms, see http://www.merproject.org for more details. Maybe you'll have a device based on that one day, in your home, or in your hand (.. or lodged in your brain? :rolleyes:)

And interesting idea would be a device where you paid an X extra fee and got access to the source and drivers. Wouldn't be easy with a buissniss model like that and wouldn't come cheap, but might see something in the future.

Or an IKEA phone. You can buy them in parts an put together the most with the specs you need.

I think Samsung will deliver that first around 2014

I just took the phone off the charger and went outside for about 45 minutes weed whacking and such while playing the fm radio app on my N9 after updating to Prease Rait 1.3. Came back in and plugged the phone in and the battery immediately said 100%.:confused:
Now I can see they did some bug fixes to pulse audio and this used to be my number one battery killer eating an enormous amount of battery but for for it to go from big power eater to zero power eater is quite suspicious.

All all.. I'm having the most annoying Bluetooth Audio issue since moving to PR1.3...

I have VW GTI and BT Audio works great with every phone I've had that supports it (incl the N9 with 1.2). Now when I try and play music over BT Audio it no longer kicks into the actual BT Audio, but, it's almost like it connects it like a phone call and plays music.

The music plays, but, the sound quality is absolutely terrible and again, it's like it's not using BT Audio, but, just the channel that it would use for voice.

Anyone else experiencing issues with BT Audio?

Don't know wat has happened since yesterday when i had got the OTA notification for updating bt on clicking it nothing happened and since then i am yet to receive the notification !!!

So what exactly is the difference in the update-procedure between OTA, NSU, Suite and the Comprehensive Flashing Guide?
- All except OTA are real flashes?
- OTA still uses 1.2 kernel, other uses new 1.3 kernel? - If so what's the difference except you keep most apps with OTA?

I can't figure how different kernel match same firmware?

It's MeeGo 1.2 with PR1.3 on top of it. Not sure where you're getting that the kernel is a mismatch. MeeGo 1.3 was never released.

Ugh, they still haven't released PR 1.3 for 059J239 (Singapore 64GB version).. :/ And I don't feel like reflashing the whole thing then restoring everything that I have on it.. This suckksss.. :(

Got tired of waiting for the ota on Singapore version downloaded the northern European version n flashed. Still the bug of dictionary clearing user added words after reboot is still there .

So after you turn off an app that used the internet, your WLAN connection is also closed?


What i mean is after you stop using an app that needed internet does it disconnect from the internet automatically?

Hi, everyone,

I'm in the UK, Finnish black 64gb N9, got the notification as soon as this thread started kicking off, just procrastinated the update till yesterday as I was on a trip.
I have no special mods or anything like that, just use the phone quite heavily as it is - OTA update went fine (download was extremelly slow though, and it wasn't my connection ;-) ).

All in all, phone is exactly as it was before, plus the extra bits and tips that people have mentioned already. In my case, it feels a bit quicker, but time will tell.

One thing that happened that nobody else mentioned (or that I didn't find at least) is that Accuweather was due to an upgrade to version 1.0.19 from 1.0.17 *after* the OS upgrade. I tried it but it said it couldn't go ahead due to some other dependencies needing it.

I did the obvious thing: uninstall it and attempt to install agian from the Store. The store had the old version (1.0.17) and it coulnd't install because it couldn't figure out the dependencies. I'm on Meecast now, so really don't know if the problem has been fixed. I suspect this is a Store/Accuweather issue, but not massive IMHO.

TL;DR: After the update, if you like Accuweather and you have a notification to upgrade and it won't upgrade, don't uninstall, just be patient or wait for further information.

Enjoy PR1.3, for the few bits and pieces that brings with it.

I've noticed higher power consumption with PR 1.3. As of now, my idle is sitting at around 13-17mA idle consumption. Nothing running in the background. No wireless connections (Wifi or 3.5G). In PR 1.2, I was at 8-9mA. I took these readings after 24 hours of using the phone, since I know it really is going to be high at first, since it will do indexing etc.

Going to recalibrate my battery later (discharge until fully drained, then charge switched off until full) and take new readings. I'll report them back tomorrow. :)

Used the Nokia Software Updatererer to do mine. Said it was a 1gig dl? Prob an error but i left it and went to sleep. Woke up to a new baby n9 (with all my apps removed).

Its as smooth as i remember it was when i just got it. No real difference noted yet although i wasnt expecting much.

I just hope my Gmail mail client actually fully refreshes when i want it to and doesnt hang or show an error...

After the update my Twitter and Facebook apps are not working, though I do get the updates on my 1st home screen and notifications of Facebook ?
The Twitter issue I have solved by installing a different Twitter client (very good one: Tweetian).

Leaves updating to the next Inception and OC app.

Video playback fixed?

PR 1.2 ruined the video playback experience - any video I tried was choppy and stuttery. It annoyed me every time I needed to watch something.

I haven't updated to 1.3 yet. Can anyone (who has) please confirm that videos (such as the included Dolby one with the girl making funny noises) are now as smooth as previously in PR 1.1?

If you have updated to PR 1.3, please watch a video for a little while and post here. I don't want to really go through the hassle of flashing and reinstalling apps if the video is the same. Thanks!

For me, Ican't update to 1.3 because I can't find it with Suite, NSU or navifirm.
