Im actually curious, is there ANY benefit what so ever of flashing both FIASCO and eMMC with the latest version?

Same here as well, i havea number of tweaks - and the nokia software updater still does not show the update, even though the OTA does. It only shows update is 0k. Do you think uninstalling some tweaks would help? |

Installing a new firmware OVER am existing firmware with hacks and tweaks installed is just going to give you a MAJOR headache... Just do a clean flash of PR1.3 and you will not have any major issues from tweak incompatibilities. |

SELECTING A FIRMWARE IMAGE (N9 SPECIFIC) Main firmware images for the Nokia N9 are divided up into "variants" by regions of the world. Except for carrier-branded variants and the 003 (China) firmware, these images are more or less the same. 001 - Europe (1), Latin/South America, South Africa 003 - China 005 - Asia/Pacific (incl. Australia/New Zealand, excl. China) 006 - Middle East 009 - Europe (2) 2xx, 3xx, 4xx - "Country Variant" and carrier-branded images In settings---> about product and under version, mine is PR1.3, then a long number under that ending in _PR_009. Not sure if this means mine is a European variant. I'm not sure if it said the same before the upgrade. Anyway, here's where I found this info http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=82693 Good luck buddy |
Re: The Super Awesome Über Mega Epic N9 PR1.3 Discussion Thread!
I'm still waiting for my PR1.3. I'm located on the west coast of Canada. My n9 is the 005 variant 16GB black. Don't know why it's taking so long...

Re: The Fantastic Super Awesome Über Mega Epic N9 PR1.3 Discussion Thread!
Hi.
As my N9 is a swiss variant, 059M8W6, and I'm tired of waiting for upgrades (no more PR1.2 firmware for this code in NaviFirm!!!), I decided to change product code with NSS Pro to download PR1.3: I have now a 059M8W9, central Europe code. No OTA upgrade for me with this code, but it worked with NSU. I just had to reinstall my apps... Should I change back my product code to genuine one? Is there any issue with all of that? (sorry for my english...) |

During my iPhone period we've received one major upgrade (iOS 4->5) and several patch releases. Another major upgrade coming soon. It's a different model, so I think it's difficult to claim N9 has been better supported. Particularly as no further major upgrades will be forthcoming and PR1.3 still has a bunch of pretty clear issues. |

Wont it mess up the country variation on the phone thus no more OTA from Nokia? Also read that updating thru OTA preserves the user data and applications but flashing another variant erases all applications. |

at OP: did you have to rename this thread to an even more ridiculous title?

My battery drops from off the charge 100% in the morning, to around 80% by midday, and that's without any use at all and nothing fetching data etc. I can never quite understand why the N9 battery perfomace can't rival that of my ageing E7 which has a smaller 1200mAh battery. Guess Symbian is just better optimised? Often use my E7 for a few hours of satnav per day(usually in power saver) and by the end of the working day it's around 70%, often around the same as my N9 even if I've barely touched it all day:confused: I still hope we may see some further improvements/optimisation to the battery perfomance at some point, as Lumia 800 users apparently did, it's about the only thing I'm not so happy with. |

My power consumption seems to have stabilized. After a couple of days of normal usage, my idle power consumption with PR 1.3 is back at 8-10mA. :)
But the big news of the day is Jolla :D edit: thread here http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=85315 |
Re: The Fantastic Super Awesome Über Mega Epic N9 PR1.3 Discussion Thread!
Still haven't received the OTA update for my 64GB Black Philippines model (059J232).
The firmware for PR1.3 is definitely there in NaviFirm. Any ideas on why I might not be getting the notification to update? I've manually checked for updates from the phone, but to no avail. Trying to avoid a full reflash, if possible. |

Do a reflash! Its much, much better then doing an OTA upgrade! |
Re: The Fantastic Super Awesome Über Mega Epic N9 PR1.3 Discussion Thread!
Anyone from Malaysia updated yet? N9 Black 64Gb no updates on NSU, Nokia Suite or OTA.
Feeling a little left out here... |
Re: The Fantastic Super Awesome Über Mega Epic N9 PR1.3 Discussion Thread!
Nokia Philippines on their twitter account was the first to confirm this update, but until now no OTA for asia/pacific variant, wonder what took so long.Nsu 1.2 gb update didnt work and a waste of bandwith.Hope it comes soon:(
