Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
They still have a tenth of a million employees they need to fire, we can expect to see a lot of changes in organization and shifting of values into new/different entities. And employees in the opposite direction.

Yeaaaa...they need to stop wasting money on this site and support all of the Nokia haters.

Also its a nice form of censorship to reduce support from those who disagree with you and had paid you money to buy your products... Sometimes I wonder whether you really are just one of those who really wishes for Nokia to succeed or are nothing but a glorified troll... |
Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
This site and Nokia has already declared a intent of parting, troll. And many of us used this site before Nokia even had a role here, though it used the original site name at that time.

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
@lumiaman, Now you are becoming repetitive, I haven't seen anyone on here even vaguely showing themselves as a Nokia hater. On the contrary the only person I see stating that is you.
I am sure everyone here on this Maemo forum only wishes Nokia to succeed but since Nokia has turned its back on Maemo supporters like myself then I have absolutely no idea why you still remain here? I see you as nothing more than a vaguely amusing distraction from an otherwise fairly reasonable discussion about Maemo's former companies missteps as reflected in the share price as they flounder in the Microsoft mire. rgds |
Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
I came up with a plan thats 100% sure way of make profit with Nokia stock.
Requirements for making sure profit with Nokia stock: 1. Live in the metropolitan Helsinki area (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa or Kauniainen) 2. Use public transport regularily enough to have weekly/monthly public transport card anyway. Alternatively for car owners, your daily work drive goes past Nokia HQ 3. Being a coffee drinker. How my swindle works: A. Shareholders who go to the annual shareholder meeting get free cup of coffee and a piece of cake/cookie/bun/etc. B. Cup of coffee in Helsinki metro area 2-5€. C. Price of cookie/pie/whatever with your coffee another 2-5€ D. Nokia stock about 2.2€/piece. So for 2.2€ investment you are guaranteed to receive value worth of 4-10€. And thats not even counting in the annual dividend, which was worth 0,2€ per share this year. Free money. |
Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
Rauha,
Now that is called a plan :p |

You have been banned for misbehaving here. That's because you're regularly misbehaving.

This thread doesn't need to devolve any further. I'm not for the banning - ignoring and/or not answering is usually good enough.
But volt and the others have been dispensing good information in this thread. Can we move this idle talk about who is the biggest troll to another general purpose thread? If one doesn't exist, can we create one? |

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
Right.
We have not lost stock talk in this talk, that's just bull. There were several graphs of stock development and talk of the cause of it as late as yesterday. The Helsinki sxc has been closed for the night. I can't be posting developments when there aren't any. So if anyone would want updates, there's always New York. It's still a bit early to put out a graph of today, as the current graph only shows 20+ minutes. So for now, let's once again have a look at the development the last few days, in a month perspective. http://bors.e24.no/e24/images/chart/...f935bdafbf.png From € 1.96 to 2.20, with perfect timing there's money to be made on Nokia. Sell when Lumiaman is buying, he always seems to know the peaks. |

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
NOK sitting currently at $3.06 in NYSE premarket. Nokia recorded their 6th straight loss but, according to analysis I'm reading now, the results are pretty dire but not as bad as feared - due in part to bumper Nokia Siemens Networks profits (the best profits NSN ever recorded). Net cash in the company has gone down from $4.2bn in June to $3.6bn this quarter, beating estimates of $3.4bn. Investors still have some hopes for the November launch of the new Lumia handsets which is holding the stock price up at the moment. There isn't a lot of room to go up but once/if those hopes should disappear, the price could half.

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
Nokia suprised market even if still loosing money. The result is much better than expect. Happy Hour all nokia stock owners.
Small victory for Windows and Nokia, but still a victory. |

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
Nokia Bears Fooled Again
SHARE: As I predicted yesterday, Wall Street’s Nokia perma bears turned out to be out to lunch for the second quarter in a row. Nokia beat revenue consensus by more than 200 Million euros and delivered a tiny adjusted operating profit instead of the expected loss. The share price is up 9% in Helsinki. Exactly as with 2Q12, the revenue and margin surprises were created by the powerful Asha feature phone sales in emerging markets. By far the biggest shocker in the 3Q report was the feature phone volume, which grew by 3 Million units from 2Q12 to 3Q12. The slick new UI and the app quality of the Asha range is clearly a step above what the third-tier brands are able to deliver in the sub-100 euro category. Nokia is making gains particularly in 60-90 euro bracket – and that is why Nokia’s overall feature phone ASP did not decline from 3Q11 level. That was a major surprise for investors. |

Thanks, Lumiaman.
Ah, it's Asha lifting Nokia again. Looks like it's surprising even Nokia management who only looked to Lumia and expected a loss. ;p |

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
I saw an analyse that called the numbers from Nokia "gruesome", so there seems to be a spit jury on the verdict. Either way, relying on the Asha sales for a profit is a bitter victory... $60-$100? These aren't lower end feature phones - which means they're rapidly gaining competition by lower end Android phones. Also, it means that they're gaining in a segment where parts of the competition has already been pulling out. I almost said where even Nokia itself has been pulling out (Symbian).

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
I think it time for apple to make move on Nokia soon. They would get nokia very cheap. The would get excellent map functions instantly and big patent portfolio. They would even **** with Microsoft in a way never seen before ;)
|
Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
They would get 100,000 employees they don't want. There are other mapping companies that come cheaper. And Microsoft already got their clammy hands on Nokias patent portfolio. That's what "that" $1b was all about.
As it is, they (Nokia and Microsoft) have a joint patent troll they (Nokia) are shifting patents into, as we speak. |
