N9 USB Port Breaking

Previously I had reported that charging my phone has become a nightmare as it keeps connecting and disconnecting throughout, that it's impossible to use the phone while on charger, slight movements stop it from charging.

Now this has gone worce, I now have to balance the phone against the wall or another surface for it charge, I then checked inside the port, I noticed that is now skew and loose, I regularly have to use a pin to straighten it so that the charger can fit. Last night I charged it, in the morning it was still charging, battery nt getting full, it's still on a charger now, 45% charged at list. I'm thinking of taking it Directly to Nokia as my Contract Service Provider say it will take roughly 6 weeks for repairs. Can't wait that long, apperently it gets fixed immediately at a Nokia Outlet.

Anyone with this problem?

I'm beginning too think N9 behaves like a human, it has mood swings. I let it sleep on the on charger over night, and I woke up it was full, it's been 10 hours now and the battery is over 60%, 3G & Wifi switching on, GPS, Facebook online, 3 emails in 30min refresh, Hourly Feeds. And it dropped from 89mA Idle to 11mA today, it's super cold as compared to heavy fire it was on yesterday.... I didn't do anything, it simply fixed itself. I hate it when problems disappear when I don't know how! But happy for now though, just need to fix the loose USB Port, Nokia emailed me to bring it to Customer Care.

I'm curious to hear what the Nokia Care center had to say about your micro USB port. What they told me is that I didn't know how to put the cable in so it's broken beyond repair and it's my fault, cost estimate 699€ (new phone) and charged me 25€ for the cost estimate when I didn't agree to the proposal.

So I bought a 5€ soldering station, 2€ Torx 4 & 5 screwdrivers and the 3€ micro USB port and did it myself. Actually I just pretty much ripped it apart from every seam, threw a bunch of screws and cover plates away and physically abused it in every way imaginable, but it works now. Oh yeah, and I didn't really even (de)solder anything - just ripped it off in my nerd rage.

Be careful with your USB stuff, eventually it will lose all connectivity after repeated straightening with a pin.

Seriously ****ed up ****. Can't wait for the Jolla phones.

Are you sure that the USB port that's broken? I had the same problem with my charger (with the N8 and my N9).. But I switched to another charger and it now works.. sometimes the pins that holds the cable onto the phone becomes "loose" therefore it won't stay on unless if it's pushed in a certain way or balanced in a certain way..

i would certainly love to see your work, if you care to post some shots...
yes, it's always our fault because we don't know how to plug cable...;)

i think the battery module is inaccurate mainly because when the n9 decides to shut itself off due to the fact that no battery charge remains, i can boot in nitdroid and use the phone for a good few hours...
