Would you like GeePS2 on the N900?

I have created "Oh My GeePS" for the N900 and then started from scratch a "GeePS2" (qml) for Harmattan.

Before I take the time to backport it to the N900 I would like to see if there is any real interest/need....

What do you think?

Geeps is still my goto n900 map. Geeps2, yes please. Especially with your programming skills, everything you gave to this community has been both useful and well done.

I would love to see the update to Geeps2, even with only minor additions from Geeps. A few extra bells can add up to an even greater user experience imho.

um.. before I vote on this.. what's the difference between the two versions?
They both look like they do the same thing?

They both do the same thing....
GeePS2 has a QML ui while GeePS uses the N900 native widgets...
GeePS2 has a few more bells...

The UI and the source code are completely different but because the features are not so different I decided to ask... :)

Could you please implement offline usage when you'll be updating the app?

Re: Would you like GeePS2 on the N900?

No need... GeePS does the same.
Rather, focus on doing something new and exciting :)

Re: Would you like GeePS2 on the N900?

I have voted yes, not because I need the application but because porting QML applications from Harmattan is really needed to help improving the compatibility between both platforms.

In the process of porting you might find issues with QtComponents for Fremantle and your reports would help improving the libraries.

However, I would suggest you to focus on CSSU compatibility, without worrying too much trying to keep compatibility with PR1.3. That would ease your work and would promote use of CSSU. We are pending on Pali to upload to Extras the package CSSU Installer, once done it could be used as a dependency to ensure that the user has installed it.
