It just goes to show the "Pureview" name is added to push Lumia sales. Wait a min, isnt the current Marketing Director originally from MS? If that's true, it figures why. Nokia's previous releases as far as I remember didnt pull a stunt like this, it's 'this is what you will actually get' style |

Nokia Lumia 920 vs. Apple iPhone 4S

Re: Nokia PureView Lumia Videos Are Fraudulent
giving credit where it's due, without the pureview branding, the OIS tech inserted does help to give better low light performance, by giving more light in by slower shutter speed. It's something we've seen on N86, where they manipulate the aperture that time. This reminds me of N86 a lot.
Of course the promotional video showing the girl jumping up and down when taking night shots definitely is a poor illustration how OIS can help in night shots. The only way to freeeze those shots are with external lighting with extreme fast shutter speed I dont like how Nokia gives false portrayal of tech usage on their lumia series, it's too ala Apple (might they actually hold a patent for that as well?). Nokia always proud to show their camera sample raw on their symbian product and don't do simulated results like this. |
Re: Nokia PureView Lumia Videos Are Fraudulent
Please don't forget two simple words. Symbian sucks. Downloaded Belle **** on my N9 and it's useless. Why Would anyone buy 808
|
Re: Nokia PureView Lumia Videos Are Fraudulent
Do you mean N8?If not no wonder it's useless :p

Now, to answer your question as to why someone would buy an 808: - 41mp camera with 1080p recording and stereo rich recording - HDMI out - USB on the GO - Mass Storage - Quite a large amount of apps in store - it's not an iPhone, nor Android/WP7, etc - Multitasking - GPS nav - Exclusive - Real Nokia ....Shall I go on??? |
Re: Nokia PureView Lumia Videos Are Fraudulent
You hang out with unsophisticated girls if they are still using Symbian. Do they wax?

sold them and if you tried to download Symbian Belle on one, well, your technical incompetency is beyond salvage... maybe Mme Tussauds? but one can understand better why you call yourself Darkman ¦-))))) your level of technical competency >¦-) |

Re: Nokia PureView Lumia Videos Are Fraudulent
Apparently Nokia's upper management didn't know about the true nature of the ad. At least according to Helsingin Sanomat (biggest newspaper in Finland). A Nokia employee said to the newspaper that Elop has launched an investigation to the incident. The employee says that things have gotten pretty heated up.

Re: Nokia PureView Lumia Videos Are Fraudulent
The real blame is on the advertising firm that put this together. I can't say it's on Nokia. Not exactly.
Shame though. Impressive camera specs and hardware performance will now be forever marred by marketing. |

I think it's hard to say where the blame should lie, though I think there's plenty to go around. At least without knowing whether the guy at Nokia that ordered the ad from the production company actually knew what the advertising firm was up to. Either way, blatant incompetence at work. |
Re: Nokia PureView Lumia Videos Are Fraudulent
Ads are always spiced up. Let's move on and stop beating a dead horse
|
Re: Nokia PureView Lumia Videos Are Fraudulent
ha ha, an investigation. Elop should take his responsibility and resign.
The makers av this movie are doing a far superior job than elop. He should launch an investigation against himself. |

case at hand, for past NOKIA product introductions there never were such "lies" involved here there are maybe the ad department got desperate considering the unsubstantial sales of Dark products, maybe they though they could get away with it, maybe it is the ultimate FART... we'll never know, 'cuz if anyone gets blamed, it won't be the farthole... hopefully he won't get anymore bonuses  don't blame the ad company for using whatever was needed to get the message across, okay? |

washing powder X cleans your laundry whiter then white... whatever m0##0nic idiot buys washing powder X after watching THAT... doesn't deserve any better :p no, indeed, until a few years back NOKIA didn't have to do much ads for their products, for NOKIAs. the brand in some country was (and partly still is) synonym of mobile phone. not quite anymore. when did that change? when farthole arrived? was before, wasn't it? but before farthole, we didn't have those blatant lies, did we? and even after farthole arrived, we still had ads (e.g. 808 PV) that were, well, close enough to the truth that no one really cared to question it... and then the last desperate attempt to sell Dark devices... thus...
