Also maybe it feels faster because it's a fresh flash?

One last thing before I go ahead with installing Qt5 beta, is it stable beta? and do you think it might interfere with any mods? (FasterN9, QuickTweak)

Sorry for another question(possibly the last) i'm just very cautious to doing things xD.

So no need to re-flash it can be installed at any stage? And no data or settings will be lost?

fremantle port eh ?

Re: [MeeGo] QT version checker for N9?

:-)

It is not April Fool's day!

Installing Qt5 libraries will not make the device faster. Those libraries are not used unless there are newly ported and compiled applications that make use of those libraries. None of the software on N9 uses qt5 libraries, they would need to be recompiled to use qt5 libraries.

Even if you tried to replace the existing qt4 libraries with qt5 versions, it would not work. Qt5 is not binary compatible with qt4 so the applications would crash unless recompiled.

Qt5 alpha couldn't be compiled due to out of date libxcb1. Please vote for this bug: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12668

This is expected: right now, these QT5 libs only take extra space on your device, they are not used in any way: no N9 program that you likely have is compiled against them.

Hmmm, maybe all of you make try this (this is my formula for success :p ):
1.Fresh flash Firmware of your N9's
2.Install QT 5.0 Beta1
3.Install all your favorites Applications
5.Don't install fastern9 app!!!
6.Don't switch on Develorep Mode from Settings!!!
7.Don't install any mods of your N9's!!!
8.Enjoy the real improvements in phone performance ;)
9.Don't forget say me ''thanks'' after all this :D

Why not fastern9, mods (the same reasons as on n900)
why not dev mode (I can't live without xterm)

Just to see that the performance of the phone is not due to mods, it is due to QT5 ;)
Developer mode and mods goes phone unstable and buggy (more or less)...personal view
