Downgrading to PR1.2?????
 

Hi

I'm getting terribly frustrated with my PR1.3 N9 and its battery drainage, and i really want to downgrade to 1.2.

Is there any way to do that? why would nokia care anymore what PR we have onboard.. it's dead anyway.. why not letting us downgrade the firmware?

cant be done...

However, you may ping itsnotabigtruck on IRC at #harmattan and maybe he might be able to help you to downgrade with the phone being put into open mode...

My answer is offtopic but still - PR1.3 brings improved power consumption, so I think your problems are not FW related, but you have some other issue you need to fix.

My problem is mostly in idle. After i upgraded to 1.3, idle consumption skyrocketed from 3mA/4mA during idle with gsm radio on to a minimum of 8mA with gsm radio off, when im lucky.
I cant tell which processes drains more than before, but using top i can see that the phone is now 95% idle in average, while before it was 97/98%

But you are right, perhaps reflashing is an attempt that should be made, before going toward more drastic solutions..

I like to downgrade to, sens we probably won't be able to upgrade anymore, i think i was more happy with fw.1.2.

3/4mA with gsm radio on is impossible. I mean, when you have clock and double tap to unlock enabled. Try making a clean flash. My battery consumption improved in PR1.3

I tell you, PR 1.1/1.2 it was 3/4 mA while idle (screen off) with double tap to unlock and meeCast. I dont know what you mean with clock, but thats what it was..

Is your battery life effectively worse, as in you notice it in your daily life and it affects you or are you just reading numbers?

My idle consumption is exactly the same since PR 1.0 (up to PR 1.3) : 3 mA with Meecast, battery usage, Profilematic...

No internet connexion in the background.

I think that your problem is not FW related.
