@marxian, thanks for the program toBuntu!!! But I from Russia, and at me with Cyrillics in a file name do not work: neither there, nor back does not send. Please make support of Cyrillic symbols!!!

OK. I'll do some testing today. It should be easy to fix. Does the server respond with an error?

Harmattan version is planned. In fact, I first wrote this for Harmattan a few months ago, but the code has changed since then, so I want to update a few things before I release it.

Thanks Marxian...

One question though...can you make it able to select multiple files or a folder for upload? As it is, it can only upload one file by selecting it...
THanks!

I don't think QFileDialog supports multiple selection in Maemo5, so I'll need to implement my own file chooser dialog, but that's not too difficult. I'll try to have it done for the next update. :)

i tried it it a great app, but here are some few things i found it i realy need it, first a need a copy function for a published link, so its easy for me to just share a link rather than doing a lot typing, second i thnink if we can have an abort option for the on going progress on uploading file would be great too,

I agree about copying the link. I'll implement that for the next update. You should be able to cancel an ongoing upload by choosing 'cancel' from the context menu which is shown via a long-press on the item.

Hi and thanks ...
I know sync is for the future but can one already see synced dirs and files? They appear at the same folder level as the ubuntuone folder (/xxxxx) but one cannot move up.

I'll need to check the API documentation, and also explore the service a bit more to get a better feel for how it works. At the moment, the /Ubuntu One folder is treated as the root folder, so as you say, only content below that is visible.

Hello there!

Thanks for doing such a nice ubuntuone client for Maemo5/N900, as well. Seeing that the Ubuntu community is constantly active (check http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/phone) I guess your app will last long. Are you still active developing the app? I think that the next big step to do would be to add the sync functionality like the client for Dropbox - DropN900 does?

toBuntu is still under active development, in the sense that I intend to resume work on it as soon as I'm able to. I have not been able to work on it recently due to working on other projects. Both sync and music streaming are on the TODO list for when I resume working on this project, which will hopefully be within the next few days.

Hi, that is great news. I will follow your steps and I will be very glad to test it... thank you!

I have come to like tobuntu very much and it has now replaced ubi which I used before.
One point to note I think it would be a good idea to block the closing of the applications while downloading a file.

I don't think it's possible to block the closing of the window, though closing the application can be blocked with the QApplication::setQuitOnLastWindowClosed() method. It's likely that the transfer backend will operate as a daemon (or at least a separate process) once the sync is implemented, so transfers will continue anyway when the GUI is closed (possibly optional).

If you implement the sync feature, I'd totally buy it from a store if it's not free

Alert

I'm posting here just to make people aware that Canonical are closing the Ubuntu One files service on 01/06/14. So, thanks to Canonical for providing yet another reminder that you should not trust your data to cloud services.

i think i read that they're going to open source some of their code to allow others to create a new service. personally, i'd rather just have a small, web accessible nas setup at home.

zaidk9 2014-04-13 05:39

N9 had good clients of ubuntu one
Is it possible to change from ubunyu one to some other cloud service!

toBuntu was great for me not for backing up data but for quickly uploading and sharing my files from my n900 online. Do you have plans for codeweaving another cloud service client?
