end of last year there were contacts between Council (Board?) and Jolla, but apparently the contact got sabotaged; if memory serves well by some Council / Board members.

Your memory fails, indeed, because it wasn't sabotaged by any Council nor Board members, but by a Jolla employee, that wasn't involved in the first communications, and decided to talk to other community members in different terms than his collegues previously had talked with Board.

This agile small company can do it different than Nokia ever could. This is what I believe in and so far they don't have disappointed me. After all, it's development is alot more open than Nokias maemo/meego. Look at MER and NEMO, thats totally open. I can live with some parts being closed while being developed like Android. I'm also OK with key parts or 3rd party stuff staying closed. As long as this closed parts have APIs or plugins into which the community can connect.

They can be the Nokia we always wanted. They can be unlike.

I didn't say anything about old devices support. I said about normal and not PR communication.

Well, then join irc and talk with them. Nobody can force them to use TMO.

You should be joining #nemomobile, #mer, and #jollamobile more often :p
You have a lot of jollaians there, you can contribute to the middleware and core of SailfishOS and getting support from Jollaians in live chat...what else do you want?
They're definitely looking for people to contribute to the project, and they're definitely supporting people who do so.
And I'm seeing a great community growing around Jolla, a community who believes in the same ideals, and contribute to the projects to keep SailfishOS growing.
If you want to contribute, there are so many things you can contribute to.

funny thing that Mer first time was born here as far as i know
and nemo is nemo, it might be used in sailfsih and it might be open source project, but it's not sailfish.
If Jolla supports it just coz it's using part of it, then maybe it's not always about community, but profit?

We can see those relationships with community in google and canonical companies, but we also know as after all it's not about "good" or "bad", but about companies profit after all :(

Why don't you discuss this with people from Jolla?

i'm not quite up to date in how far Jolla contributes to Mer and / or Nemo if they do, but isn't Jolla in fact simply using the open source projects (Mer and Nemo)?
as they used the open sourced part of MeeGo and, as ex-NOKIAns, had no difficulty writing the missing firmware.
well, ZogG meanwhile posted similarly, but anyway...

Jolla Community...

This forum is broken paece of crap. I Don't get why people is so fans of this forum its not even working good on mobile for got sake. Its 2013 not 2005.

As stated already they are on freenode IRC channels. But if we should have a community forum we should start FRESH with modern forum etc. And a good spam filter and a way to remove troll OR offtopic posts (like this) from a thread.

I think you missed the point that TMO is not just a forum, and even with trolls and whining and spam, from here we got a lot of projects, mameo5 support, mer itself, ideas and good developers. I'm sad for you, that all you want is modern shinny forum, but not the community or people. And "delete spam or trolls" posts is really a hard one to decide, as it might be trolling just coz you don't share same thinking/idea, then it turns to be dictation. I'm not saying Jolla would be bad, i'm saying that beginning is not the best way for company that wants to build huge community, especially opensource lovers, developers that would contribute for fun and just experience. It's not enuf to just promote SDK.
General promises and no facts or real info, no openness is leading to make huge blob that would blow off one day. That's what happened with maemo, as you can see the support of maemo5 here was much more than harmattans as it lead for some people not to fall in same hole again. Now you tell me you start new company as fresh start, but you want to repeat same history, then what is different except the name? Where is learning?
Community with projects is not only the fans and lovers, but healthy communication for both directions.

Exactly, the speculation site about how future would be good and just talking in general with no fact, info, snip of code is promotion site and not community.

Ofcourse everything is about profit what on earth do you expect? How on earth do you get any income without money?

I dont know sometimes it seems people doesn't work and only get money from mom/daddy especially does people who don't realise everything is about money in the end. You have to pay your bill for got sake.

I personally soon getting out of job. I would mind start new business as FOSS consultant but its very hard this days.
