But the link doesn't work.

Who have the direct download link? for ubuntu please.

now? you seen my guide how to mount disks to PC and do a backup of that via DD.

anyway, I am afraid you can somehow damage that old SW in it. better to let it do someone more advanced. I am sure there are many advanced and honest people you can send the device, they would extract whole OS, deleted the code and returned the device.

open the first icon and type terminal . It should show .

Maybe it could be done with Teamviewer? he just need to plug the device to usb port when instructed...

Yes you need to send it someone on pm. Someone who is trusted and who is knowledgeable about this process (like it seems it is Rusnak-COBRA).
You don't need to be to much worry about trusting someone, because you'll see everything on your monitor what is done.
