Well I will try/do it later this month but I don't think they will fix it only of the broken holder hinge (my N9 have also display problems and I'm hoping of some goodwill ..).
BTW I am living in Germany and got my N9 trough amazon and I will contact the seller.

You can go to the nokia homepage and do a reparation order. And then you can sent it to www.w-support.com This is an autorised care center in Germany. I did it as well, when i had stripes on the display, and they changed it ;) I'm thinking about to sent it again, because of the sim card tray problem...

How much did you pay for repairing your N9 ? Have they only replaced the AMOLED-screen?

Yes, they replaced the AMOLED-screen and i didn't pay anything because it was in the first 24 month of warranty. The sim-card problem appeared later :( But i'm thinking about to sent it again, because the outstanding sim-card holder makes me really nervous ;)
And i think it's better to do it now in the time of warranty than after it.

I have other solution for this. I had for few days lumia 800 sim card slot and it fits ok inside N9, it didn't stands out. So i find out why, inside sim slot there is some kind of spring on left side(touchscreen side), lumia 800 slot is shorter than n9 so it didn't touch this spring. So here is solution :D

Left leg should be cut off about one milimeter, it's metal so you can't use scissors :D

Now it didn't stands out, yes I have broken usb door :D new one is coming from store now.

I have a big issue. A BIG BIG BIG BIG Issue!!!!

Please see the attached picture below.

My problem is similar to your's except that the sim tray won't stay down and lock in place anymore. It just pops back up to look like the picture. Will chopping off the left leg of the sim card work for me?

Note: this is definitely a problem with the phone and not the sim tray. My friend has an N9 and he has no problems with his N9. So he tried his sim tray in my phone and it popped back up. He re-inserted it into his own N9 and there was no problem.

So this is a problemo with the phone.

WHAT DO I DO???? OMG, WHAT DO I DO? I AM FREAKING OUT!!!!!

Okay, not really freaking but I love my baby (N9). I hate seeing my baby in pain. Can someone please make recommendations for me?

Get a new case or glue that simcard tray. I did that to my brothers N9 and it worked pretty good. I later had to remove the sim card and I didn't have much a problem with that. I just had to reglue it.

Did you use crazy glue?

Where did you put the glue?

You have to keep in mind that the phone pushes the simcard tray up. So if I glue it, then how will I be able to unglue it if I need to insert a new sim card?

If you want to go all out, replace the housing. Its your best bet. It costs $32, here are some links to australian ebay, although the seller ships international.

Black, blue, white.

Its pretty easy if you have some experience with electronics, and there are tutorials available on the internet to do it.

No wonder given the seller is in Hong Kong :)

<ot> As a UK resident, I often find the same items on UK and Australian eBay from the same seller, same shipping cost, only the Aussie one is usually 10-20% cheaper. Guess which one I buy :) </ot>
