Funny that you may not have even 0.2 updates in future!

You need to better inform yourself before casting judgement, you seem to be under the impression that there should still be an avalanche of updates.
Nokia dropped almost the entire team by March/April last year, a smaller team was left to push out PR1.2 in June, then it was shrunk even further to a handful of people.
Apart from that tiny crew, some extra man power (still tiny, especially compared to Symbian) was outsourced supposedly...

The nokia Link package is a actually a small .iso image such that when you connect the N9 to a Win computer via USB the PC will see a 'virtual CD' that contains an installable Nokia Link package (which is likely the one you mentioned).
BTW the name of the package is 'aceso-iso' and it's about 37MB.
Total waste of EMMC space, IMHO.

it has no point but it's a strange update as I said . In changelog just ' testing ' is written .

This is aceso.iso decompressed for you :) enjoy nokia link . and that bla bla whateva won't help you and you don't need to lie about using nokia link because no one use it .

I use it for install drivers on clean Windows. Link include almost all needed. Suite include more drivers but for everyday use it is not so necessary.
It's funny but my local copy of Link is newer than your one so I don't understand for what Nokia push it in update.
Anyway thanks.

Re: More updates coming for N9?

I would be more interested in a 1.4 update than in all of these little twitter updates which I don't care for at all.

shma 2013-05-10 09:52

i have only need for a Facebook update, twitter are fully covered by allot of apps already.
If jolla allowed sailfish on n9 fine, but I'll get their device anyways just for support. I'll expect it to be buggy and all, but to even think a 1.4 for n9 is pretty silly since it would further set lumia behind n9. They are finally catching up, so m$ won't allow it.
There us very little we can't already do, even with our "limited" app selection. I can stream TV/films, remote control computers from any place, play great games. Take stunning pics/vids. I don't have to support charge during the day. And now with 9 shark i have free music... Sure there are some annoying bugs, but i learned to live with them, avoid them.

zappAtom 2013-05-10 09:56

Re: More updates coming for N9?

Very true, that WP is far behind :-) Still some bugs being fixed would be very nice! I hope we see in the future more qualitiy apps being developed parallel for N9, BB10 and Sailfish.
Another option would be to once replace Maemo on N9 by Sailfish...

that clearly explain the "testing" in the changelog .

dex87 2013-05-10 22:50

WöW Pull to refresh in Twitter sometimes work ;) 1.3.95 latest version :)

Re: More updates coming for N9?

I am not able to upgrade to latest twitter package..
Twitter is listed as a kepted-back-package (besides libgpg-error0, libogg0, lzop and usbutils) and if I try

Code:

apt-get install twitter
it asks to remove

Code:

mp-harmattan-001-pr

How to solve this?

Re: More updates coming for N9?

hope i'm not the 1st to point one this nasty detail...
all the MeeGo ppl @ NOKIA have either been fired or left on their own accord before
and many now are working on Sailfish @ Jolla
where should that "hypothetical" PR 1.4 come from?
Jolla?

not doing enough w/ N9 to answer concretely, but based on N900 experience...
  • apt-get clean
  • apt-get check
  • apt-get autoremove
  • apt-get autoclean

:o

Re: More updates coming for N9?

You did apt-get autoremove? It will surely remove the meta package then! What you need to do is post the output of
Code:

apt-get install twitter --reinstall
The above will show what has been stopping it from being installed. Also if you have played around with /var/lib/dpkg/status then surely you have not made proper edits there...

minimos 2013-05-22 16:21

Re: More updates coming for N9?

There is no need to update the twitter package, as it doesn't contain *anything*.
It only helps to download all the other parts (libtwitter, twitter-qml, etc.) together.

And I would suggest against removing mp-harmattan-001-pr, or at the first occasion you will remove a package, there is a good possibility that you will see most of the packages disappear one by one...

Yea did autoremove.
By typing "apt-get install twitter --reinstall" it tries to remove mp-haramattan-pr-001 or the thousends of packages...

And no, i didn't play with .../dpkg/
