So Nokia seems to not like developers and also users, thats really sad.
@bwalter i would really like to use your app, is there a possibility to get it directly? I sent you a pm some days ago...

EDIT: @bwalter thx :)

Strange and ridicules! How is the MeeRun different compared to applications like Sports Tracker, Endomondo Sports Tracker or My World, for example. A big shame for Nokia I think!

I would like to try it as well, I sent a message to Nokia about the download error, but they don't seem to be doing anything about it.

Lucazz990 2013-04-20 11:48

This is a really good app, the gps filter works really well :) the only thing I really miss is the altitude tracking, but it's in the roadmap :)

Add a pop-up dialog to inform user about just that (MeeRun will collect no personal information, but needs GPS lock to operate) on the first start of the app and quit button there for those not ok with using GPS (Like Nokia QA). Should be easy to implement.

I'm mainly interested what is their next excuse. :)

Hi, I bought this app yesterday and I get the download error, it's shame, I really want to use it.

I submitted a new version on Friday with an option to disable usage of location data. Let's see :)

Lucazz990 2013-04-22 16:54

Version 1.1.2 is in the store but I still can't download it :/

They did it again, that's unbelievable... I sent them another e-mail, like everyday. And they will confirm that they are doing their best and that blablabla.

**** Nokia. Can't you handle that users pay directly to you and then you will send the installation file via email?

I would then eventually end up having troubles with the finance office. Plus the additional effort... I am currently doing my best to help the people who contact me but I do not have time to maintain the app outside the app store.

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

Good news is that we who already bought it, no longer have to pay again :) It now says "download" instead of "buy". If Nokia miraculously succeed with the "extremly difficult" task to fix a download, maybe we get to try MeeRun before the "maximum number of downloads message" shows up again.

EDIT: Thanks bwalter for sending the app. Very appreciated!

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

Hi bwalter, thank you for your effort, but understand the people who pay to nokia for your app, I try to send a message to nokia, but obviously I received an answer from a bot. I really want to use your app, tell me if I can help you in some way as user to make nokia do their work.

I can't download the updated version either, bwalter is there any other way to get your app?

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

Of course I understand it. But the TMO users who have disabled private messages have statistically less chances to get contacted ;) Just pm me...

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

I finally got to try it out today, Bwalter sent me the deb file last night, its very good, I used the default filter, you can create a custom filter or use no filter at all, I haven't played around with the filter settings yet so I'm not sure how they affect the recording.

I uploaded it to sportstracker
http://www.sports-tracker.com/#/work...o7h6blh48sld31
But sportstracker claimed my max speed was 75.7km/h, where MeeRun claimed it was 45.5km/h, which I believe is the real figure.

If Nokia ever sort out the download problem I think this will be the most popular sport tracking app for the N9.

I can't send PM yet :s, let me see if I can create a new account.

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

Yesterday I got an answer from Nokia with instructions like "open store, go to... in settings delete private data, reboot..." to make the download work . Of course it didn't, but I'm pretty sure that instructions were for Symbian because the path to follow didn't match with the N9's settings :o So now we can understand why Nokia Store works sooo well :D

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

Grrr...
I can't download from ovi store (reported 3 or 4 times to ovi store, and i will report every day).

I can't send private massages on TMO (I didn't recive emaili with activation link - resent doesn't work for me).

Is any way to use this app?
I bought (18.04.2013 18:35), paid, and have transaction number.

jhon_key 2013-04-24 16:42

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

I have the same problem, I wrote everyday to Nokia and they send me the same bot answer, ups sorry, I'm worst !!! because now I get the message saying "I reach the max downloads" then I have to buy it again.

I guess that Sports Tracker show you the unfiltered maximum speed but MeeRun show you the filtered speed.

P.S. Are you living in New Zeeland? It makes me jealous ;)

If you want to contact the developer, just e-mail him instead. You find the adress if you search MeeRun on store.ovi.com

lesiot 2013-04-26 09:51

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

I didn't download this app even one time form ovi store, but "download limit exceeded", and I need to buy one more time...
Is it a joke or something?

joearchi 2013-04-26 09:52

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

Same here. Just bought the app, thinking a more than one month problem was solved.
I definitely does not understand why Nokia is not able to solve something like that.

bwalter 2013-04-26 11:03

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

They now asked me to create a new item and upload it to the app store. And guess what? It still doesn't work.

knobtviker 2013-04-26 12:17

Now you know how it felt for me as I was one of the first ones that had that issue.
I still fight that battle, but go public!
Social networks, blogs, all of it.
The more the merrier. Bigger pressure to fix it.

Now, summer is here and I'm fat.
Can I give you my money for the app via Store or otherwise? :)

I see there is version 1.1.3 in the store but it's "like" another app, we should pay again to download that! I really hope nokia will fix this... That's crazy!!

bwalter 2013-04-29 06:25

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

You can't imagine how many emails I already sent them to try to solve the issue. Maybe they just lost the password of their main computer and don't want to admit it :)

Yeah madness - actually, it sees i already have a version installed so only gives me the option to "Launch" but of course i don't have that version - i still have 1.0.3....If you didn't laugh, you would cry...

PhatApteryx 2013-04-29 10:48

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

So i deleted the installed one so i could re-download & install it & of course it now wants me to buy it again :)

Arthuro_Adam 2013-04-30 16:23

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

I bought it also, but couldn't download. I hope I will try it, Sports Tracker is very inaccurate about distance.

If you could implicate a heart monitor to the app, it would be very good :)

Lucazz990 2013-04-30 20:12

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

Hi Bwalter,
your app is really cool! Love the ui and the gps filter :)
I have a few suggestions to make it perfect:

- Altitude tracking (I know it's in the roadmap, but it's really important for activities like hiking or mountain bike :) )

- A "pause" button, or an automatic way to make it happen;

- A configurable auto-save function to protect the track from crashes or accidental closure of the app;

sponka 2013-05-01 10:49

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9

+100 for "pause" option -- that's feature I miss most and something that allow my N900 with eCoach to survive ~15 hours of recording.

Now -- rant!

This mess with store is catastrophe :)

My store app claims I have version 1.0.2 installed and update to 1.1.2 is available.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...ore_update.jpg

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...ong_update.jpg

Still, it won't update ...

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...store_fail.jpg

OTOH, my installed app claims it's version 1.0.3.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...ng_version.jpg

To my surprise (and as others mentioned) there are 2 (*two*) versions of app in store and selecting second one bring this -- version 1.1.3 ---> installed!?!?!?!?

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...store_find.jpg

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...p_in_store.jpg

Something is rly fc**d up here

Sorry for so many pictures, but they tell more than 100 words :)

Is this a Sports Tracker client or completely it's own offering? More importantly, can you upload to sports-tracker.com directly from the MeeRun app? It's a bit unclear..

Yes, you can export MeeRun's training as a GPX file and then upload to sports-tracker. I've tested this function and it is working well. Replay function of the training on the N9 phone is so well done that upload is perhaps not so often needed, I think. Upload may be needed, if you wish to share the workout to others.
