Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
This new version is pretty impressive! The improvements are huge: OSM maps and offline tiles... and finally the power consumption is really low, thanks to the longer GPS measurement intervals.

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
What happens if I uninstall MeeRun, will I be able to download it again then without another payment?
Since they have vacation at QA I maybe have to wait until August until they have fixed the other versions..... |
Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
I guess that you don't need to pay again, even after uninstalling MeeRun. I also don't know what's happening to the other items (I uploaded the new package for more than 1 week...).

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
I got tired of waiting and tried to uninstall it but now when I go to Store it tells me that I'm going to pay to get the download. :(
I still have my receipt number and date but how to contact Store and complain? |
Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
Easiest thing is to ask Nokia for refund and purchase the new item. Nokia provides absolutly NO help for that and don't care about it, they only care about new customers and personal presents from Microsoft...

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
Nokia tried to figure out what was wrong but they didn't succeed. They offered my money back but I said no, it's no idea for only 3 euro ;)
I will buy version 1.2.0 and see if the coming updates works after that. |
Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
The only thing i'm really missing with it is heart-rate tracking.
BTW: is there any bug/issue tracker for this app otherwise this thread? |
Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
Today I got the update notification for... one of the older packages for MeeRun (sorry I'm not sure which is which) and all I get is a "download failed".
From apt-get update the only significant error message is: "Fatal error: Server sent invalid ContentEntry" |

I would really love to see a current speed meter.
Would be extremely helpful when riding with my phone on the handlebars as a HUD ;D |

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
I did uninstall my old version (iirc was 1.1.3) and went to store -- got only 1 hit for version 1.2.0, but should pay again ...
Edit: I bought one of depreciated 357611 or 366068 Items are unavailable Wrote complaint  |
Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
It's been 14 days since I wrote email to ContactCentre.Europe@nokia.com and no response, so I left message on nokia forums. Very dissapointed by nokia ...

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
I have tried to forward your complaint to Nokia again. Let's see if it helps... The easiest thing to to is to ask for refund and buy the new item, instead.

can't update to version 1.2
i've been trying since it came up... |
Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
Hi there,
I recently discovered your app and I gave it a try but there are still some great things missing for me in order to use it as my main tracking app...I would love if you could add support to heart rate monitor, I normally use Sport Tracker with a HR Belt but since ST team has stopped support for symbian and I currently own a brand new 808 Pureview I´m frustrated with the ST team, so if you could add some features really important from a personal point of view like being able to see in real time the speed, distance and BPM in the locked screen while mountain biking I would switch to your app right now!! Thanks for your time. |
Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
I am not sure if the 808 PureView supports BT 4.0 (Smart, LE), in that case adding HRM support for BT 4.0 would be a good idea. Supporting older devices is currently not planned.
Changeable fields (including real-time speed) is planned, also for the lock screen! Quote:

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
Thanks Nokia... As I suggested before, the easiest thing to to is to ask for refund and buy the new item, instead. I hope it will work!

http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_808_pureview-4577.php A HR support and reliable altitude info would be awesome. BTW. It seems strange to me that the altitude info on Sports Tracker and Endomondo ST, for example, is variable even while water sports as kayaking. You know that altitude is not changing, so wouldn't it be wise to use a calculated average altitude during a workout while water sports? |

On the other hand, you propably don't want to use altitude values pulled off google maps, since you cannot know that the user isn't airborne, as hang-gliding for example :D :D |
Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
That's the reason why altitude information is not yet available.
Altitude values from the Big Google Network is indeed not an option, although I guess that knowing the activity and having a toggle option would be enough to decide wether ground altitude will be used or not ;) The goal is to use the SRTM database instead and make sure that it can also be used offline. The Google Observatory method, besides requiring an internet connection to spy you, is limited in terms of number of queries. Quote:

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
Seems that MeeRun has a problem reestablishing a GPS connection after loosing it for some reason. I was cycling 4 days ~550km. To save battery power the GPS intervall was set to 10s. Sometimes GPS connection got lost and i had to start another App like GPSMeeFo to reestablish GPS because MeeRun wasn't able to do so.
Can confirm that someone other than my red A**? :D |
Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
Yep, same issue. Using GPSMeefo too. I've noticed it's quicker to have signal back. Or maybe it's a common placebo effect ;)

Which phone are you using? There was a similar report from a Symbian user and might be related to a combination symbian/model xxx/Qt.

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
Hi, bwalter,
Thanks a lot for this application - I purchased it today and gave it a first test run (literally ;-) ), it's great to have an alternative, especially one that exports data to open formats, which is something that seems to be in decline across the board lately. Can I make a few suggestions? Some of which you may already have, but here they go anyway: - The lock screen should really be in the LPS screen (the one that has the clock, player controls, etc.). The rationale being that I often use the phone with a password, and I have to type it every time I want to access my training information. This isn't too much of a hassle as I can either deactivate it or just do it, however, in very cold weather when you need gloves, swiping becomes difficult if not impossible, so the LPS screen becomes the preferred place as you can see it by pressing a button. - It would be great if the lock screen displayed the speed at which you are going, even better if you can configure what information you can have, within reason. - I have done one training as yet, but I am suspecting that you can only export one training each time - if this is true, it'd be great if you could export everything at once. - You mentioned in this thread that you will port this to Sailfish once you get your hands on a device - did you manage to give it a go with the SDK? At least work can get started! - It would be fantastic if you could read other Open Street Map formats, aside from the tiles, in particular the compressed binary one. You could then import a lot easier and a lot more. Not sure whether this is too relevant, though, as I would be tempted to use MeeRun for map viewing, which isn't the intended purpose, but I thought I'd mention it as downloading tiles from OSM ends up with you having a lot of files, and you can very easily reach the limit of the file system in terms of inodes. That's it for now, great job and keep at it! Gabriel |

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
sponka yes Twitter coz it's public. I have solved all my troubles with Ovi (but for other app) after I contact to NokiaCare and my local Nokia via Twitter only. Via e-mails I got annoying pointless conversation or simple ignoring. Be persistent and patient but don't be rude. After some conversation tweets I've got refund and I buy renew version.
|
Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
I should to clarify. It was not my idea for refund. NokiaCares by themselves gives me refund for app I can't download coz of they error (some months ago they publish apps with error to downloads and MeeRun was in this wave). So NokiaCare make me refund to take off from me.

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10
Thanks for explanation.
/rant on As for rude part -- I'm not very proud of my reaction but I'm also not sorry for my response. I work for international company that has offices all arount the world except in USA & Australia. We are in fast moving business dealing a lot face-to-face and beeing office manager I know what's fast response. It's their job to deal with customers and I'm sure my request is pretty simple -- we are not in stone age (anymore) and considering all info they require when complaint is submitted even monkey could solve ... something. Solely my opinion, of course :) /rant off |
