Yes, it is planned! There are currently many other improvements on the roadmap, like changeable fields, GPX import, send by e-mail, better altitude support but goals (with audio feedback and graphical UI) will definitely come.

Excellent improvement, bwalter. Thanks.

I hope in a future release you can add Goals and use audio feedback to report the deviation ("you are going too slow", "you are doing fine", etc.).

Thanks again.

Do you have more info? Did you try to pair it from the phone's Bluetooth settings, first? Do you see the name? A message? Or anything which might help to debug the issue?

Just got another update v1.3.2.
I will test it tomorrow :)
Thank you Bwalter so supporting so well this application, I'm so happy I bought it.

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10

Any chance on the Symbian-version being updated? Nokia Store is still just showing v1.2.1 for me... Could you provide further updates for the Symbian-version past the Store drop-off date, or is that impossible?

Even if it's just an unsigned .sis-file or something, I'm sure anybody still on Symbian either knows what they're doing and have hacked their device long ago (or are running CFW's), or they have no clue what they're doing and wouldn't be able to 'operate' MeeRun even if it presented itself on their device :D

Is there also any hope we will have Meerun for the N900 to celebrate the development of the Neo900?

@bwalter
Why limit the max driving speed?
What about those BMW M power (or Ferrari/Maserati/...) drivers out there having removed the SW limit switch?
[unfortunately I am not one of those, but nevertheless ;)]

Yes, I'm aware of the deadline of 31.12.2013 :) There will be a new release coming soon afterwards, providing a unsigned .sis-file should be possible!

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10

Nokia's attempt to validate 1.3.3 in Nokia Store:

---
Comments from the QA team:
R&D Signed QA failed with following issue:
SUMMARY: The menu lists are overlapped while start new training.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Download and install the application.
2. Try to launch the application.
3. Select “New Training->Start Training->Positioning”
4. Try to back to “Activity Settings” page and choose other options
5. Check content’s display.
ACTUAL RESULT: All menu list are overlapped.
EXPECTED RESULT: The content should display normally.
AFFECTED DEVICES: Meego N9 classic Firmware: V10.2011.34-1_PR_001.
FREQUENCY REPRODUCED: 100%. (public, Qa in progress -> Qa failed)
---

I always think they are making jokes but, well, everything is possible. Anybody managed to reproduce the above behavior?

Is that PR1 or am I mistaken? Can't you just set it to depend on the latest firmware? I mean... does anybody _not_ use the latest after months of release?

I'm using Warehouse anyway, but just saying :-)

Where do you see version 1.3.3?

In Ovi Store I still see 1.3.0.

In Warehouse I see version 1.3.2.

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10

You should have the update by the repository if you have installed it with warehouse.

alephito 2013-11-22 17:37

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10

Unfortunately, Warehouse still shows the previous version, even after forcing to check updates.

Check updates on your phone, not on warehouse.

Very strange: the indicator keeps spinning and nothing happens. It has been spinning for half an hour.

I know this is off-topic, but does anyone have a solution?

Thanks.

EDIT: I rebooted and the update appeared. Thanks.

Yeah,it is an older version. On my N9 with the latest(?) firmware PR1.3 there is:

PR1.3 (40.2012.21-3_PR_001)

BTW. They did a small update to Sports Tracker when the display info needed an adjustment after updating the firmware.

Mric 2013-11-22 20:44

Sorry, Bwalter I have tried to reproduce the error (if I undertood correctly) but nothing, no overlaping menus.
As mentioned by Ggabriel maybe Pr1.0 is the error.
Edit: v1.3.3 from warehouse

peterleinchen 2013-11-22 21:12

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10

What kind of QA they are doing? :( at all now these times for an environment they cancelled!

Absolutely not reproducible on PR1.3.
Nobody (hopefully) out there uses 1.1 anymore. Maybe a few still on purpose on 1.2.

Please make app dependent on 1.3 and you are done.
Or someone on PR1.2 may give some feedback also...

Should be:

Yes, that's PR 1.0.
Who knows if QA at least cared to try on newer PR releases.

Bwalter,

The Spanish translation appears to be really well done. :D

But I prefer to use MeeRun in English. Could you add some option to switch the UI language at will?

Thanks.

Lucazz990 2013-11-26 13:33

Hi Bwalter, thanks again for supporting this great app :)
Two things that will make Meerun better are a track auto-save (or even a manual one) and maybe a kind of dialog window to prevent an accidental closure of the app. Especially, the possibility to save the track will be very helpful in many situations; for example I used to make very long mountain bike travels last summer and using track@way I could save the track anytime and even turn off the phone, and resume the same track the next day :) this feature would be great both for security and for usability of this (already stunning) app :)

bwalter 2013-11-27 12:53

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10

Yes, will try to find the time to add a language selector. You can also start it from the console using LANG=en_EN /opt/meerun/bin/meerun (or probably by modifying the .desktop file).

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10

Auto-save will definitely be added, it is already on the roadmap :)

I fully understand the part with accidental closure of the app (it happened to me a few times). The problem, I have not managed so far to add a dialog before closing the app after a swipe down (if somebody has a solution, I take it ;)). Another possibility is to disable the swipe down gesture during sessions but that's not my favorite solution...

I re-submitted the same file again (with absolutely *no* change) and it has just been validated. Another reason not to trust them.

Additionally, there seems to be a problem with the payment. Zero sales in 15 days (N9 + Symbian), I can hardly believe it... Another great performance from Nokia Store!

Unfortunately I don't, there is a compatibility framework app but I never properly figured out the settings. I am currently using eCoach with a Zephyr HXM for running and cycling but it only saves an average heart rate for a given event and keeps me in target heart rate during a workout. It would be nice to graph my heart rate for other activities. I would love to have a heart rate graph during difficult airplane flight maneuvers that I could replay and sync to audio to help track stress points.
thanks for the reply!

hi, I tried to buy your app on n9. It always failed on the confirmation of payment. Tried many times. Also tested to buy another app, for which payment worked out ok. So maybe something broken for your app at ovi. cheers

I have updated to the last versions of Meerun and every update is better than previous update, congratulations bwalter!
But I have a question! Which are the limits between the red, yellow and green zones when you are using the heart rate monitor? Is there any option to edit these zones?

Hi! I don't know why my phone can't open the readme file in .Meerun. How can i install the open street Maps in offlne mode?Which is the file format that i've to download?.
This app is awesome, much better than Sportstracker!
Thank you!

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10

Hi Bwalter,

I am using your last version.

In my case, auto pause does not work. I keep it set to a 3 km/h threshold but nothing happens when I slow down.

Thanks.

bwalter 2013-12-27 17:38

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10

Thanks :) There is currently no GUI to configure the zone limits but you can directly edit the config file (~/.config/meerun/meerun.conf) as follows:

Code:

[hrm]
greenZoneLimit=90
redZoneLimit=160

Result: 0-90: green, 90-160: yellow, 160-inf: red

There will be more zones and a GUI in a next release.

Re: [Announce] MeeRun - Sport Tracking application for Nokia N9, Symbian and BB10

It should actually work when you slow down but not necessarily immediately. The app takes the time to make sure that the threshold is reached, depending on the current GPS accuracy. It may take a few seconds more to detect the pause (but the time is properly adjusted when auto-pause starts).
