Re: #JollaLoveDay - 20th May - device announcement
No HW keyboard, although it was expected :(
At least this sounds very promising, screen-size-wise: "Simply and intuitively operate the device, entirely with gestures. All of the screen estate is yours, without the need to stretch for the corners or spin the device in your hands." I thought of buying it either if it had a HW keyboard or a reasonable screen size (4-4.5") and you can never have all you wish for :) EDIT: Alright, 4.5" is reasonable, let's celebrate :) |
Re: #JollaLoveDay - 20th May - device announcement
Bit surprised at all the negativity - what were people seriously expecting, a gold-encrusted device hand-delivered to your door by a group of sexually frustrated 18 year Finnish virgins?
I'll definitely be pre-ordering. It's been years since my N900 gave up the ghost and I never bothered with the N9 knowing that Nokia had no interest in supporting the device. |

Cool but slightly odd design that will probably collect a lot of dust along the bonding between the two pieces while in the pocket.

Re: #JollaLoveDay - 20th May - device announcement
honestly, it is the next best thing to do to follow in the N9's (and MeeGo's) foot steps
the N9 had a very good image in the general public if they improve on it (µSDXC slot under the back cover, exchangeable battery) it might attract quite some interest well looks like µSD(XC?) & exchangeable battery are confirmed a little unhappy about the size, too much, but okay, if there is no hw kbd, it could be a compromise to have virtual kbd & still have some screen space to see what you are actually typing  and again (as posted already), hw kdb is a niche add this to the fact that Jolla is in a niche as well, it seems reasonable to stay close to the trend as far as hw design is concerned (slab, larger screen) |
