One suggestion: show the upload date/time for the latest package (or all package).

Update time at app description and at warehouse will match time of uploading latest package for application. follow at https://github.com/custodian/orn-core/issues/19

Good news, every one!

It seems like all legal issues for launching paid apps support to be solved.
A bit of codework with warehouse app is still required, and then some kind of 'beta'-test will be launched.

Harmattan apps are first to go.

I was just wondering, is there a repo for "Just a heap of all apps in OpenRepos for device x"? Are there any quality controlled "all functioning apps" repositories?

No.
There is no such repository, since it is impossible to create one, because of app name and configuration conflicts.

There is Warehouse. You just search what you need over whole OpenRepos and install :)

Re: OpenRepos.net - Community Repository System

Yes, and I saw the together-post about how to use the web api from command line to query OpenRepos from command line. However, you still need to manually activate the repo and wait for the update to complete for every app you install, so it is a bit of a pain.

Like Ubuntu PPA. And this is good approach.

ha. if you got super-meta-repository with all contents you'll need to wait ages every time you want to install updates :D

How to scan for my already installed programs and make them "repo enabled"... As said earlier, just enabling one takes forever,... :P

Afaik there is no way to "scan" for that...
Just enable the repo when you see it browsing through openrepos...

That would be crazy :D One could just make a dummy app called 'opera' on their repo and then replace bunch of system stuff with malware through related updates to anyone who has both 'Warehouse' and 'Opera' installed...

As said, there is no way to automatically scan and enable application specific repos.

Just browse openrepos and check for updates ;)

If you are on sailfishos and had some repos enabled before system update, you can try to execute mass enable, check this tjc post, first answer for disable and re-enable repos.
If you are on harmattan, long enabling time probably means that you have some obsolete or offline repositories enabled(harmattan-dev, apps4meego etc).

Re: OpenRepos.net - Community Repository System

One problem I have with the OpenRepos way is that OpenRepos is turning into more of a base repository for me than something like Ubuntu PPA. Ubuntu PPA is intended to give you the bleeding edge of some specifically chosen packages, applications that you probably already have installed (in older versions) from the base Ubuntu distro. On Sailfish, since the Jolla Store is so meagre, OpenRepos becomes the main repository. But it seems to me that the "one repo per app" doesn't really suit that scenario as well as it does the "give me the latest for one or two specific packages"-scenario

I am unable to update any app on my Jolla because the openrepos client says that a repo is down since yesterday.
How can I check which repo it is and how is it generally possible to safely update my system packages via terminal like it was done on N9 with 'apt-get update/upgrade'?

Warehouse shows error with details: error message, and repository url/path. for example: shows that repository does not exists: and url points to custom vgrade repository at merproject obs.
Console command to perform metainfo udpate is 'pkcon refresh', and to update all packages - 'pkcon update'

Thanks. :) But I don't know why this error occurs:

'Error occured
Transaction /2699_ddbbeaaa
Status: repo not available
Extra details:
Cannot write file 'var/tmp/AP_0x3QTwbk/repodata/repomd.xml'.'

Do you have any free space available on device?

There is now a new category, "Education & Science" for Applications, in OpenRepos. Useful to put mathematical softwares, etc.

Thanks, Basil.

Re: OpenRepos.net - Community Repository System

Yesterday when updating repos in Warehouse system "somehow" crashed -- display went black, led was blinking in red and after 3-5 seconds picture was back.

Icon order as was set by me is lost, and when in I checked Warehouse all repos are gone :/

I enabled mitakuuluu repo and now have this error:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...olla/crash.jpg

Even if repo is removed app return same error.
Also:

Code:

[nemo@Jolla ~]$ pkcon refresh
Refreshing cache
Waiting in queue
Waiting for authentication
Waiting in queue
Starting
Refreshing software list
Fatal error: Authentication failed (is SSU set up correctly?)
[nemo@Jolla ~]$

Is this Warehouse problem or with device/system?

Thanks,
b.

This is not related to warehouse. Probably something wrong with ssu subsystem (login details, domain or release). Check out questions on together.jolla.com.

Ok, thanks -- just chedked and are already 2 posts with this question :/

Edit: tip from together.jolla.com worked, had to type this in terminal:

Code:

It is alive. Openrepos just works.

There were no major changes, so no major news.
List of planned features, some of them are implemented, some are in progress.

PS. only six months passed from SailfishOS support, so it's not like 'one year old' news.

I'm just looking at the dates of the news... Over a year old now.
Got the impression of a rolling ball, that got started and left alone drifting...

I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Just simple "added this", "improved that" simple news would be enough, to notice that this is alive and maintained.

Hell... Having no news would be better than having few, year old ones. ;)

What the hell has been released on july 6th!?
Huge amount of downloads that day...

Nothing special.
According to logs, someone from Greece mirrors(?) openrepos.net every 30-60 days, every package downloaded once.

Top downloads, and popularity leaderboards will be added soon ;)

Minor update for Openrepos Statistics pages:
Now you can observe download details for concrete package versions!
Total downloads, downloads for selected period and geo distribution.

If you have deleted package, stats are remains, but no nice package name will available, so it will will be shown like 'Package id: 8159'. Probably, names will be restored, but I'm not sure about it.

Publishers!

In order to implement paid apps support, Openrepos needs ToC for Publishers, Payment processing, and Eula.

Does this looks like acceptable Publisher ToC? https://openrepos.net/toc_legal

Re: OpenRepos.net - Community Repository System

I have two concerns:

8.ii) we receive a claim that your Application violates applicable laws or third party rights

Claim should not be enough to remove the Application.
Other way, I will claim all existing OpenRepos application tomorow, and we end up with empty OpenRepos.

9.Either one of us can terminate these Publisher Terms at any time for no reason [...]

Are you saying that you can ditch me tomorrow, just because you didn't like my haircut?
This makes OpenRepos completely uncredible.

I broke the leg, and cannot maintain Openrepos any longer. In term of business, thats not the reason for Openrepos to be non-functional.
Same for you: terminate terms, and stop recieve any funds at your will.

But I got your point.

Reasons and periods of termination should be balanced for both sides. Should allow easing period for both sides.
Also, you as the owner of the repo are in an infinite stronger position than any publisher, so the terms should be rebalanced in favor of publishers.

No concerns from my point of view.
But, as for paid apps. It wont happen from me. I will always publish my stuff for free.

New statistics update deployed to OpenRepos.

Now you can filter your downloads not only per package version, but also per country! and new graph was added

OpenRepos overall downloads:
http://i67.fastpic.ru/thumb/2014/080...aa6c5e949.jpeg

Warehouse for SailfishOS overall downloads:
http://i67.fastpic.ru/thumb/2014/080...6fabc4afc.jpeg

Warehouse for SailfishOS 'Finland vs All' downloads:
http://i67.fastpic.ru/thumb/2014/080...27fb709d4.jpeg
Note the 2014-07-14 date, update8 was released, Warehouse gets update, and boom :p

There are really small amount of Jolla phone users with Warehouse in Russia :o
http://i67.fastpic.ru/thumb/2014/080...ecfbe807a.jpeg

Start coord value for 'country vs overall' data for a period is 'total' value of downloads before start date. I'm not sure if this is a good decision, since it can distract you.

The point of comparision was to visualize growth effect from different countries for the selected period, i.e. 'start + country' vs 'start + all countries'.
