for got sake atleast wait until those having Jolla Phone get the update.

Seems people flooding the servers because my Jolla can't upgrade cause of "problem with store"

dictionary works fine
plus I have android installed store but its not loading any

btw, do your store downloading any packages directly?

I try update the version 1.0.2.5 on Jolla Store but show error download. Have other method to update the version?

Re: Porting Sailfish to N9 (or other)

I must say sometimes the community has no respect et all :(

first we should be happy that jolla allows install on our beloved n9

second thing is those wo want latest should wait until it has reached those users who bought jolla!

atm the servers are busy rolling out the packages to users as plenty of jollas get timeouts etc. and the fact that n9 users has no patient does not help it.

now thinknl about end users who not are so technical they may very well wonder why theyr phones does not workthink and throw the phone in trash and buy another phone from that big company because it just works.

so ny point is WAIT SOME DAYS so real customers get it first!

or else i would not be suprised if jolla start to block non jolla devices and everyone loose on it :-(

I think he is right
we have to stop nailing their weak server while the real customers have to get the updates first

Instead of crying why not ask Jolla to use a stronger CDN to meet the demand?

Also about your scare-mongering do consider that Jolla have encouraged porting and want their OS to be open enough to be ported. I can wager they won't be so stupid to start blocking non-Jolla users instead of just improving their infra... Therefore stop posting BS...

Re: Porting Sailfish to N9 (or other)

It makes sense what you said but only if they are enough devices out there to create such a bottleneck. It seems hard to believe for me that we are there already even with the N9's.
Personally I'm being patient. I'm still waiting for the N9 port of Sailfish to get better before I put it on to my N9.

Re: Porting Sailfish to N9 (or other)

Unless we don't know what the server issues really are, it's not useful to point fingers at each other.

I somehow doubt that there are more N9(50) running Sailfish out there than there are Jolla phones. It's pretty advanced stuff to install it on the N9(50).

Re: Porting Sailfish to N9 (or other)

Hi :)
Thanks to all (everyone who participated in this progress, even with asking questions).

I'm sorry for my mistakes in English:p

I was far from topic and updates recently.

I'm testing http://www.mediafire.com/download/zj..._0_0_5.tar.bz2 Image (Thanks Max83) with old wiki, for example in "Enable Root Access (Windows Users)" section there was not:
Code:

nano /sailfish/etc/shadow # Open the shadow file where Sailfish is mounted

On the first line, you will have (where XXXXX are 5 numbers):
root:34.random.letters.numbers.and.symbols:XXXXX:0:99999:7:::

Now, delete the  all letters, numbers and symbols after "root:" and before :XXXXX:0:99999:7:::

For example, change:
root:$1$00Z6Bfjc$vlIKUOMHIavIABL1gNuy6/:16049:0:99999:7:::
into:
root::16049:0:99999:7:::

Save and exit the file (CTRL+X, Y to save).

And there were not "Repository Replacement", "Access Harmattan's MyDocs" and "statefs Workaround (with GUI!)".

I read the wiki page and some recent posts of this topic but I couldn't find solution for my problems:
1) By I trying installation with "zypper in ..." or "zypper install ..." I receive this:
Code:

Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
'file.extension'  not found in package names. Trying capabilitties.
No provider of 'file.extension' found.
Resolving package dependencies...

Nothing to do.

I received that message exactly same, when 'file.extension' was a.rpm, b.deb and c.apk:confused:

2) The file manager does not open files it only shows and delete them.

3) After doing "Access Harmattan's MyDocs" instruction when I receive a file by Bluetooth it is not played (unlike before it that .mp3 was played by touching file name in transfer list.

4) Is it possible to upgrade it to "r4 image" with having Max83 installed programs and UI?
Thanks for your attention
with regards

May I want you to learn us here or on wiki page?

I guess that won't work anytime soon. Jolla won't let out alien-Dalvik or so I read. =/

Re: Porting Sailfish to N9 (or other)

it is possible to run it, AFAIK its requires the kernel v3.4
which in N9 we currently use the 2.6.32
I already compiled the kernel to 3.4 but there still need some works to up it on the N9 which some drivers are adopted to N9 and some not

For me no diff since vgrade v3 to now vgrade-jolla-1.0.2.5.tar.bz2 Store don't work. Manage to install 8 out of ten default suggested apps - but not Maps and Microsoft Exchange and then no download possible at all.

Is this a common problem? Or I'm doing something wrong or miss something?

I have not done any work in the kickstart to enable the store repos yet.

There have been instructions posted earlier to this thread to get some further store functionality which may work with the new repos.

What I'm trying to do is provide an image which can be built fully from a kickstart file so any improvements to that appreciated to

if you can see the results accordingly which tells u that u added the store-repository then u are good to go for store

Any idea how we can fix the gesture orientation problem (swipe from right to close and swipe from left to see feeds etc.) on N9 / N950 to make it work like a Jolla device? Is it an accelerometer issue or we just need to hack some internal files to fix this? Any hint Jolla sailors? ;)

Re: Porting Sailfish to N9 (or other)

if somebody still has issues with repo authentification: this worked for me everytime:

zypper ref # if it asks for authentification enter any combination of pw and username
edit /root/.zypp/credentials.cat (change the password and username to what you have in ssu.ini)
edit /etc/zypp/credentials.d/store (the same here)
then do
zypper ref # again
and it should work
