Re: Porting Sailfish to N9 (or other)

Where is the corner for the N9 port. Or is it only the current topic for it. I can lend a hand for testing. Have N950 and a N9 to spare. Already have my hand on the original Jolla :P

Sorry my bad English.

This is because if the phone is not in your hand the touchscreen is not grounded. Sailfish seems slightly more sensitive to this, but the same bug is present in Meego; if you're not touching the case it's hard to make the touch input react.

Yes, that's OK. Altough, the sailfish-preconfigured ubiboot does not have the Nitdroid menu, only Harmattan and Sailfish.

Re: Porting Sailfish to N9 (or other)

Its kinda ironic when people use they'r time to try to get android layer work in sailfishos on n9.

When the time better be used to make dialer hangs and swapped landscape bugs fixed and gps working instead.....

flip, you must have installed nano or you can simply open this path in ur nautilus and put them there
remember to open nautilus by issuing sudo
sudo nautilus
and then goto /etc/ssu/
now u can see the ssu.ini file open it with any text editor and change all inside to the one I posted

You need to be in Open Mode before you install any of these. If you already have Nitdroid kernel, yes, that is also an Open Mode kernel.

Re: Porting Sailfish to N9 (or other)

Hi,
I started with a fresh install of the vgrade R4 image before christmas, and updated my N9 to 1.0.2.5 yesterday. I noticed now the wifi connection is far less robust than it was before the upgrade. When it falls, no way to restore the connection with ifconfig, wlan0 doesn't even appear in the terminal ! Anyone to confirm?

For few weeks now, my provider offers me some 3G connectivity. I tested on Harmattan, it works. But no way to make it work with Sailfish. If I go to the settings -> mobile network, I always see "Internet unactivated" (or "disabled", I don't run an English GUI).

Roaming to set to "always allow"
Network mode is set to "Preferred 3G"
And the network choice is set to "automatic".

On the Sailfish home screen I see 3G or 3.5G, but no way to connect the web.

Any idea how to debug this? Does 3G work for you?

coderus 2013-12-31 09:30

hold on internet connection and enter apn settings

romu 2013-12-31 09:42

Re: Porting Sailfish to N9 (or other)

Thanks. Some progresses...kind of :-p

After setting the APN, I can now choose between wifi and mobile data connection. If I choose this later one, I get "Connection problem".

Anyway, not a big deal, I can live without 3G.

EDIT: It works now! Thanks Coderus.

Harmattan's MyDocs are not mounted in Sailfish by default. You can edit ftsab to mount the partition then use symlinks to view Harmattan files. Otherwise, you could try to edit the tracker config files to read Harmattan contents. Have a look at the wiki page for more info.

Yes, works for me on vgrade_r4 image, but i had to set it up manually, as @coderus pointed out.

No need to delete it, unless you flashed it persistently to MTD :D

Re: Porting Sailfish to N9 (or other)

Should this be added to the Sailfish N9 adaptation config?

/etc/fstab
Code:

/dev/mmcblk0p1 /home/nemo/MyDocs vfat noauto,nodev,noexec,nosuid,noatime,nodiratime,utf8,uid=29999,shortname=mixed,dmask=000,fmask=0133,rodir 0 0
/etc/usb-moded/dyn-modes/mass_storage.ini
Code:

[mode]
name = mass_storage
module = g_file_storage
mass_storage = 1

[mountpoints]
mount = /dev/mmcblk0p1

[sync]
nofua = 1

[altmount]
mount = /home/nemo/MyDocs

What this does:
Adds MyDocs to Sailfish

Most of time people get the partitioning error is because there's not enough space in your MyDocs partition. You might want to save your stuff and delete files from there....

If you used the MOSLO kernel like it should be used, just booting it with flasher and not doing permanent flashing, then there is no need to reflash ubiboot kernel, it'll be there just like it was before using MOSLO. :)

It is futile, it just will not work.

thats why we should focus on the 3.5.3 kernel, the module works on the 3.5.3 kernel

but mysatroker isn't the actual issue why aliendalvik doesn't work: it's only used for sound and such. aliendalvik will probably even work without it. the real issues are hwcomposer and gralloc
