Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900
Half and Pichlo both...
Sure updates should happen here... Sure there is talk on IRC... Neither are Official Statement on Official Site. and should be taken with a grain of whatever you wish to use in place of salt. I do not expect answers to valid and pertinent and VERY overdue questions either in IRC or here... But I do ..and so should everyone else...expect them to come as Official Statement from their Official Site. |
Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900
Kabouik Some how along the way ...in your mind...
you have managed to negate the value of our pre ordering down payments as non refundable ... we who have thrown all we have at the project... and at the same time crowd funding backers should get a refund? Incredible logic you have there. official statements answering valid questions on the official site. anything else coming from anywhere else and from anyone else...even from the pope...can be dismissed... Unless he pipes up from his official site..that is..:D |

The crowdfunding step, however, is just meant to order the actual product (sourced and produced parts, assembling, shipping) when all development is done but set a minimal threshold to the number of orders so that the production is possible. It's like a backorder with a minimal unit number prerequisite. There is no uncertainty anymore at this stage, since development is considered completed. The money will not be spent unless the goal is achieved and the unit is produced, so I don't see why these people wouldn't get their money back if the crowdfunding goal is not reached. If it is not reached, Joerg would not even see the money in the Neo900 bank account. |
Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900
I stand by my questions:
1- What is the exact state of the project 2- Who is the project leader. 2a- Why are those who fund the project not properly and consistently updated. 3- How many individuals are still on board who pre ordered. ( this is a MUST, no one from the team in all these years has contacted me to ask, no mention, not even a x-mas card the last *-years. It is an imperative to know what the numbers are to ascertain what the remaining devoted pre order individuals will be saddled with as additional cost) 4- What exactly are the state of the books. THAT has never been given. 5- What is exactly the state of everyone's pre ordered down payment and the accrued interests .. The list of questions goes on. And these aren't questions that could damage flipping anything. At least they weren't if they were asked and answered ..or simply GIVEN by the team...long ago... Silence is not making the questions go away... It just makes the issue and the answers more explosive if everyone remains silent. These are long overdue questions which should have been answered a long time gone now. |
Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900
You stand by your questions but some of them have been answered here, namely 2. As for 5, what we know is there is a 2% interest on our investments (notice that they use the wording "donation" here, which I don't really like, but nevermind) and that it will be deduced from the final cost to pay upon successful completion of the project, so this interest is ours unless the project fails with every penny sunk into development and no remaining funds. We know also from a question below in the FAQ that, should there be any failure to continue the project, refunds will be issued up to what the remaining funds allow; what we don't know is how much is left at this time.
I am not sure about 4, I do not know how laws work in that regard, but as long as Neo900 is a company and we are considered donators and not stakeholders with stock options, I don't think we have any particular privilege allowing us to look into the books unless the company decides to share. They are open, they might share, but to be honest this is not the kind of openness I had in mind when I decided to bet on this phone. Finally, 3 is an important question, but knowing this number will *not* ascertain the final additional cost, since it depends on the new backers that would hopefully step in at the crowdfunding stage. If they don't, there will be no additional cost because the Neo900 will not be produced. The additional cost should not be calculated based on the number of pre-orderers. In fact, I suspect it is a fantasy to believe we can know the numbers of initial backers still on board before knowing what will be the final per-unit cost. |
Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900
171 preorder backers to go...
Hardly fantasy... I think it premature to just arbitrarily announce that it is impossible to determine the numbers... Lets be patient until the poll closes by the end of october... waited years....what is a couple of months in neo project time in compare? As far as my questions go. They are not answered....unless you happen to be the neo project leader or the official spokesperson for the team.... And this happens to be the official site...that your official statements are coming from? So...you answering questions does not officially answer questions now does it.? I will give the team a week to officially answer pertinent questions... if the answers are not to my liking at all... or more likely ... they do not have anything to say inside the week... then I will be writing them directly. I have given them years...already... I give them a week now. my patience is done. edit: actually... I am going to contact them regardless... I have a few very pertinent questions I have not mentioned yet but do need clarification. Not being deliberately cryptic. I will mention them after I've woken. |

[EDIT: I see you corrected your post before I posted mine. Well done. But I am leaving this in for the second part below.] There is no cosmic significance to that end date. I had to provide the number of days when creating the poll. Being a lazy git, I entered "100". By coincidence, the end fell on 2018-10-31. |
Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900
haha...
being a lazy git too...I just read the tail end of your expiry date for the poll... :D |

Now, I am merely discussing the topic with you Endsormeans, and whether or not our opinions diverge (and, don't get me wrong, I would have preferred seeing the finished Neo900 earlier as well, if that had been an option), I don't think that tone was necessary. I'm just trying to help since you asked the same questions several times and some of them have answers on the official website, but if what you want is a personal message from the project leader to your attention on the forum, then of course I can't help, and you are making it clear that you don't appreciate me interfering. But I don't think this is what a forum is meant for, nor do I think Joerg is particularly due to fulfill such requests (yet it would be good if he was more present here, I fully agree). |
