Otherwise there are other Motorola keyboards that are larger:
Motorola Droid 4 (or Photon Q, seems to have the same kbd), available here.

I also found that, but no domesheet anywhere!

The Droid keyboard seems good enough, but not perfect.
If the small size means the camera can work (as pointed out earlier), then awesome!

This keyboard is a closer fit to the Jolla, so it might look better as well as having an additional row and larger keys.

One small issue for me (and many more I guess) is that I've only been able to find keyboards with English layout. Has anyone been able to find different layouts (Swedish/Nordic in my case)?
The keys can be remapped, I know, but it still looks wrong :)

I don't know this keyboard, but I like it more than the Droid one posted above. Same concern about non-QWERTY layouts though, I'd like an AZERTY one myself.

I mailed them, but I doubt this is a solution. Also, I am now Head of Development at Jolla Prototyping Inc. :p

Re: [WIP] Building OtherHalf keyboard prototype --determining final keyboard

Awaiting reply.

Possible new candidate? Dedicated number row and arrows, but ending a sentence will require two buttons as the period is not a dedicated key.

Re: [WIP] Building OtherHalf keyboard prototype --determining final keyboard

Just out of curiosity, has the Nokia E7's keyboard been considered? Never had an E7 myself, but I heard good things about the keyboard. Perhaps it woiuld be too expensive or difficult to have the needed parts, I don't know. Sorry if I missed it.

No dedicated number row, but as an AZERTY user on computer, I'm totally used to it (you have to use Shift to type numbers on AZERTY keyboards).

[Edit] Nevermind, just realized the keyboard is the whole back cover, so adapting it to an OH would likely be very difficult. Perhaps HTC Arrive then?

Same here: I don't know it, but it seems good enough to be mentioned. It lacks Tab key though, and I can't find the domesheet. Anyone has any experience with it?

It's in stock (and quite cheap) here: http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-htc-arrive-keypad.html

Re: [WIP] Building OtherHalf keyboard prototype --determining final keyboard

For those in doubt, I made a 3d model with the keyboard on it.

This combination is: (apart from some minor details)
-affordable (although no indication of 3d printed part)
-all available parts
-easy manufacturing
-simple parts -> strong parts
-5.5 mm increase thickness

All that will be visible from the back:

4 Attachment(s)
I wish there was a bigger size keyboard available....
because it seems like the bezel of the keyboard is too big...
Useless empty space :(

Edit: Maybe we can add analog sticks?
Like the PSP (Go) one
