1) Since side-loaded application(warehouse) will allow 'transparent' sideloading in future. 2) Since openrepos does not have QA, warehouse-installer may not meet Harbour Quality Criteria :( |
Re: [Announce][WIP] Warehouse - native client for OpenRepos.net
I say it's worth a try. This would extremely raise OpenRepos and Warehouse awareness.
There are rumors that Chum is going to be "officially" included. I see no reason to exclude OpenRepos then. |
Re: [Announce][WIP] Warehouse - native client for OpenRepos.net
chum have only opensource projects and it can be easily controlled.

Let's see what comes of it  |
Re: [Announce] Warehouse - native client for OpenRepos.net
As expected, Warehouse Installer was rejected from the Harbour.
Installer, via whitelisted api, sideloads Warehouse, so they tested Warehouse as well. And Warehouse uses forbidden packagekit api, so installer is rejected. Anyway, Installer is a nice way for installing Warehouse from OpenRepos itself, since it provide more flexible way to enable 'Untrusted software' prior to Warehouse installation. |

Re: [Announce] Warehouse - native client for OpenRepos.net
Would be great to have the number of softwares in each category and subcategory. Both in Warehouse and in OpenRepos.net web interface.

Re: [Announce] Warehouse - native client for OpenRepos.net
If chum will be added to the Jolla store, how about getting Warehouse into Chum once it hits the store? :p

And find and install Chum, then find and install Warehouse from Chum, is more frustrating, then just visit openrepos special link with rpm downloader, and follow basic instruction. |
Re: [Announce] Warehouse - native client for OpenRepos.net
maybe some kind of dummy app?
containing a description, a list of available apps and a download link, which opens in the browser, so the app does not sideload anything. |
