[Announce] QTQuickerMenu - qml based app menu for n900

I created this to quickly open wanted app. I hope it will be useful for somebody. You can quickly find application via keyboard or recently used menu.

After hiding you can show it via qtquickermenu icon or
in QtEdger:
-set right3 to dbus-signal,
-decrease velocity (if you want),
-create empty qtquickermenu profile

To replace hildon launcher add: replaceHildonMenu=true in ~/.config/qtquickermenu/settings.ini. It require modified hildon-desktop: hildon-desktop_2.2.155-2+thumb0_armel.deb (it doesn't work in portrait mode).

Latest 0.0.7 version thumb/non-thumb

That`s because it`s not in the repos.
Find it here on TMO, save to the N900 and dpkg -i it.

If you don't have CSSU Thumb wait for new release.

i tried and it worked but when i tried to swipe it out to home it stopped and there was something going around in terminal which i didnot understand

You can show it by swipe from bottom right edge - for now it's not configurable.

This is really cool app, i can now know what others opened by checking recently used app. You are awsome man.

By the way, how can i go back from that menu to desktop if i don't want to run any app?

Nevermind i just figured it out that i can just swipe it down.

Perfect replacement for "Hildon menu" and it lacks something, maybe everybody should concentrate on this single app for a while cuz its really awesome

This application IS AWESOME - thanks :)

one thing though - i use catorise sub categories, and all applications in sub categories are shown under "other" category.
is it possible to handle these sub categories issue?

if it's too complicated - maybe it's possible to display all sub categories' items in the parent category?

another issue is that custom created categories are not recognized - i have a category called "Graphics" for example, and when i hoover above it, it jumps to "recently used".

Probably it's possible but I don't know how :)

impeham, sorry but whole categories support need to be rewrite.
For now you can look at SectionMenu.qml and AppView.qml >> onAppFound: - everything it's hardcoded.

Attached a fix to the sub categories issue.

i also updated my script to support my different menus (i have several other categories instead of the original ones - i made a hard coded change to support them).

you can hide hildon menu launcher by replacing with invisible icons and then you can invoke this menu with QBW where ever you want on the desktop screen with your icon. I did like that for myself and it works perfectly. If you want then you can just import below settting to QBW and use attached image or any image you want. Hope this is what you wanted until hildon menu is replaced with this.

Testing version with n9 like animations and MultiWindow - it works for terminal's windows. For now It's not very usable - just for fun.
