My jphone is not accepted for air transport! :( Maybe that's why Marc Dillon is missing, driving around delivering jphones in person. :) Anyway, this got me thinking, what about an explosive OH? Just slap it on, set the timer and kaboom! :D If anyone at DHS reads this post I doubt that the jphone will be allowed to be sold in the US. :P

Oh, what's the betting that the package doesn't show evidence that all relevant tax has been paid (remember having a problem like this importing something from the US)? This could affect rather a lot of us ...

No tax within the EU. You only pay tax in the country you buy from. And this was a private package also, not from a shop.

I think there are some rules about tranporting batteries in a plane or some companies dont transport batteries at all by plane.

Edit. Why this packet is coming from Turku?

That would indicate that there's nothing to filter in script. If you add echo $orders after the last curl line, did it print the orders history page?

Are the previous curl lines working for you, so you have the orders history page content in $orders variable, if you try to echo it?

Well, silly me. There was a typo in the password so $orders was empty and therefore $order_status was empty too :D

I also had to change this line
Code:

if [ `cat status.txt` == $order_status ]; then
to
Code:

if [ `cat status.txt` = $order_status ]; then
Otherwise I was getting a "==: unary operator expected" error

All my thanks for the script and the support, jamar.

My jphone is not accepted for air transport! :(

In your shoes I would contact Itella for more information about that.

I tried to send once an iPod and they wouldn't accept the package, due to the battery in it.

But you can of course order online laptops / tablets and phones from Europe to Finland. Never understood that.

Yes, I have heard also about these cases. I have the impression that the limitation only applies to private people in Finland, not companies.

Edit: And Turku Customs in the tracking log might indicate that the sender is actually private person and not Jolla...

Its probadly that damn battery! The rules has changed in that area latest years.

To me this sound like a big problem for Shipment. Because its not easy to get those papers ready in short time...

We can just hope they can ship as many as possible via train... But that means longer shipment time is my guess..

EDIT: woops private sending... has nothing todo with Jolla

Re: Jolla tracking numbers

Itella is lacking permission from Trafi (Finnish transport safety agency) to send lithium-batteries abroad in airmail, they may get it during next year.

One story about it (in Finnish): http://www.mpc.fi/kaikki_uutiset/pos...amisen/a942127

Edit: The permission concerns only batteries inside devices, sending batteries as they are won't be allowed in any case (according to article)

hmm now I really think that time has come to take advantage of aquirer option CASHBACK.
This really is very bad logistics preparation, also from Jollas partner for shipping.

Had no problem getting my N9 from Finland a couple of years ago, by plane. And it clearly had a battery in it ...

Yes, tht makes sense, because a private sender is unlikely to provide evidence (or even be aware that hey need to provide evidence) that all relevant sales tax has been paid

That was private package which was turned, as private persons cannot ship lithium batteries according to Itella. So people who are ordering from private auctions like ebay will have problems that they cannot use Itella to send the devices (but need to use more expensive DHL or Fedex which allows batteries and which can cost like 100e per shipment)

Companies like Jolla can have exceptions to rules.

Posti is the old name of the Finnish national postal company. Nowadays its official name is Itella but it is still using the old name as a brand in private customer segment.
