Re: Jolla tracking numbers
Fedex tracking page yesterday (just minutes after I received tracking number, btw) said something like that:
Vantaa [...] Athens International Airport In truck for delivery Athens International Airport Today, it showed Vantaa [...] Athens International Airport In truck for delivery Nobody found or business closed Athens International Airport I didn't leave the office for a minute yesterday, especially at the time they claim to have tried to deliver. I called FedEx, the rep didn't sound worried and said with certainty that "You will receive it today" when I voiced concerns that if they didn't find me yesterday, they wouldn't find me today either. I thought wtf, worst case scenario I go in the evening and pick it up. The shipment came today fortunately, OH and all, but when I asked the driver if he tried yesterday he said no (I don't know if different drivers go to the same area each day). Something doesn't sound right. Like they faked the tracking or something. Anyway, apart from having lost the default ambiences, I'm a happy sailor. |
Re: Jolla tracking numbers
Good morning! Congratulations to all the lucky ones who already got their Jolla!
As usual, my Jolla is still sailing in some warehouse in Helsinki.... |
Re: Jolla tracking numbers
My Jolla has been sitting at Itella's main sorting center in Vantaa since Monday morning. I know it's Christmas Itella, but c'mon.
Or maybe they know I have tons of uni exams till tomorrow and should really concentrate on those? |
Re: Jolla tracking numbers
I hope they updated my address for Fedex, because they didn't update it on the store ...

Re: Jolla tracking numbers
I think it is quiet, because everyone's busy refreshing Fedex' website :)
Just a heads up for those who got the 'In picking' status yesterday (like mysef) - try checking Fedex. Mine is finally trackable since about one hour ago and it should arrive tomorrow. |
Re: Jolla tracking numbers
Some Finnish reports say that Jolla might have finally gotten to the 3xxx level in the webstore order sequence. There are still plenty of people stuck at Paid, though - including first wave orders.
It is certainly getting down the wire for Christmas deliveries. While Monday is still a delivery day in theory, due to the holiday culture I wonder how many in practice will be able to receive theirs or get theirs delivered to e.g. a possible office address. As I've maintained, I think Jolla has a chance to ship by Christmas if the orders top out in the 3000-4000 range, but it will get awfully close and many recipients will not receive theirs in time for various reasons, including those related to shipping companies - not just recipients being away. Of course it would have been great to hear this from Jolla, but as we now know, they clearly chose to keep the radio silence to the bitter end. I expect 3000-4000 range people to go In Picking and shipping probably during the rest of this week, up to Monday. After Christmas, if the estimates are correct, would probably be deliveries that got away but didn't get delivered in time, as well as some assorted international deliveries they may have extra issues with (non-EU destinations?). This is my guess. Quite probably some people won't get their Jollas in the 3-4 weeks from payment. |

The saddest part, of course, that these late ranges include very early orders too - so Jolla failed in respecting the priority of the pre-orders, e.g. because the webshop invites didn't get out in order or there were errors in getting them our, but also due to clearly not respecting any very clear order processing sequence at all. |

Re: Jolla tracking numbers
#200002670 changed to "In Picking" yesterday, today showed up on FedEx :)
but... estimated delivery: Mon 23/12/2013 (btw, destination Lithuania) sigh, waiting continues. P.S. tip for those who don't know (I didn't): to find your package on FedEx, search through "Track by reference" ;) |
Re: Jolla tracking numbers
2849 still in Paid. Hopefully the numbers will start rolling again in the afternoon.

Re: Jolla tracking numbers
Do you track with the whole order number number including the leading 20000?
Do you put hash in front of it? I search on the swedish fedex by the sender's reference, and I have to enter the country and postal number as well. Is that it? Do they use fedex in all countries or do they use DHL as well? |

Re: Jolla tracking numbers
Hey, I discovered that the postal number (in sweden 5 digits, where two last are usually separated by a space) it is important that the space is in the search. I did manage to track if I inserted the space, like this:
000 00 Just nice to know if you're a swede or if you use spaces in the postal number. |
Re: Jolla tracking numbers
#2755 *just* changed to "in picking" now, UK, 0 euro, first wave pre-order. my F5 key will be relieved!

In this stretched country only four digits are used, no spaces, ex. 8000,9000 etc. |

As has been mentioned earlier in this thread Jolla might not have the additional paperwork done for us poor sods living outside the EU (but inside the EEA). |

IMHO it also makes sense to collect the shipments for the non-EU countries and send them all together, to not have the same bureaucracy procedures over and over again. Even Nokia had trouble sending devices to some countries. |

Re: Jolla tracking numbers
As I've understood, the Jolla order notification process goes like this:
1) First hint is that the order goes from Paid to In Picking. This is the one big bit of really good news, others are not so trustworthy - sometimes this is the only info prior to receiving the phone and other steps may happen in delayed fashion. You have to keep checking the webstore for this. Some have made scripts to do this, see earlier in this thread. 2) If you are receiving to a foreign location (not Finland), FedEx is probably used and using the webstore order number in FedEx reference number tracking can possibly be used to check the status once you are In Picking. See tips earlier in this thread. 3) After this, the second info from Jolla directly is usually an email with the tracking number. The number may be mangled up, so check the FedEx tip above if so. But this has come to some only after the phone has been delivered, so it may or may not be useful in your case. 4) The webstore also has statuses for shipping and delivered, but in reality these may be update late, if at all, so are probably not that useful. One can of course check for them and, again, earlier in the thread there are some examples of scripts automatically checking these statuses. I repeat my estimate from a couple of pages ago, 3000-4000 ranges hopefully go into shipping this week (clearly since last night and today Jolla has been moving into the 3000 range) and most people should at least have their Jolla on the road by Christmas, if not yet received. Unfortunately for some this means not getting it in the 3-4 week window, nor in priority order which has not been respected, but at least they have light at the end of the tunnel. Only question marks to me are the few non-EU foreign orders (is there a delaying issue there) and the possibility that there are more orders than the 4000 range, which might mean processing might not proceed fast enough - but I think this is the lesser worry of the two question marks. |

I agree with all the points you make, but, I've never seen this delay ever from Nokia from which I've ordered quite a few phones from over the last decade (shipping to Norway specifically). Jolla being such a small and young company this is easy to forgive, they can't have experts on every matter at hand at this stage. I am starting to get the feeling that the technical problems reported earlier might be part of what us 100Euro/First Wave preorder customers in Norway and Switzerland are experiencing right now...... Cybette is welcome to give a comment here at any time ;) |

What Ship Date did you use? Does anyone know if there's any specific format needed for a UK postal code? Edit: Wow, that is freaky! I've been refreshing / re-searching on the FedEx page so many times. Then suddenly straight after my post, I now get a search result! Estimated delivery: Thur 19/12/2013 |
