Actually I'm fine with them selling through DNA, as stated before in this thread the more customers they get the better.

The key point (as also said by strongm above) is communications here. The Impression I (and as it seems others too) got from the statements out of Jolla was that preorders will get the device shipped before general sales will start. If they come out and say clearly order is Finnish Preorders then DNA then Rest I'm fine with that, but they should come out and say that clearly.

Fact is that except 2 guys in a igloo, no one has received his Jolla yet.

Release on the 27, make the maths, it comes to 25/12.

Then think of terms, if they said "delivery" it means that people are in the right to expect their phone by the 25. If they said "shipping", then they are in the right to expect one tracking number by the 25.

Things would have been much different if from the 27 they had started to send X/Phone a day and said it on Twitter or so... Problem is that now it's like "thanks dudes we got the money you'll get the phone sometime soon" typical finn culture problem, lack of communication.

In words, for instance, being a small developer, I am currently porting my apps for BB10 instead of Jolla... Because I consider that if I don't matters much to them, then I do not see why I should give time to a plateform I can't even try for the moment. What you miss is that many of the pre orders are devs and so on...

You have a point that developers need the phone ASAP.

But if you have an N9 try this: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...12#post1394012

Thats how I test my apps atm.

I'm thinking about but I sold my second N9 when preordering the Jphone... So I dont especially want to erase my whole N9 just for that... I used quite a lot the simulator but I think the look and feel of the Jolla is really missing...

+1 for developers having a phone in advance, this is out of topic and we knew that from day 1. I understand how Jolla couldn't make it happen. If anything, even Nokia couldn't make it happen properly with the N9.

Remember me when Nokia sent me a Lumia 800 to thank me for my apps but 1 week after the news was that no compatibility from WP8 to WP7... Lumia 800 => useless.

IF they can pack boxes to DNA, they can sure as hell put boxes for delivery with the same speed to the prepaid customers. I don't care if the device is later than promised, but at least it should arrive no later than to the stores. That's a fair expectation i think.

Sorry, I disagree. Stacking up a bunch of Jolla boxes with sequential serial numbers, where you record "From 1000 to 10000: sent to DNA" is completely different to: independently grabing a Jolla box, putting it inside another box, labeling it with your name and address, double checking that it's actually your address, optionally recording that you have a specific serial number and updating your order.

The latter is a much more time consuming exercise, and I am sure that I am forgetting things, like sorting by country or something or other, which could be a prerequisite from the shipping company.

Well they seem to have shipped the first software update before my device, I wonder what SW will come pre-installed?

You'll most probably need to update. Suggestions were made that the version that the first 450 had was going to be flashed in the factory to the preorder devices.

Re: Jolla tracking numbers

just to join the whining choir:

Yes, I've been invited to the Party in Helsinki to pick up my phone in person. No, I couldn't make it due to time and money restrictions for that trip.
Status is "paid", that's it. As one of the first 450 backers - being "The First One" feels indeed "unlike" - well played Jolla.
Feeling that the whole information campaign of Jolla is misleading and the worst I've yet experienced for an electronic device I bought!
Again, you guys need to get your PR team straight, no matter how small the company is. PR is one of the most important jobs.
About the Finnish people getting the devices earlier (no matter what number in queue) might most likely be a rational/economical point of sending the device.
Does it feel fair? No, not at all! Will a start-up company be able to survive from just their own country folks as backers (with DNA as an exclusion)? Rarely.
Jolla is far more dependent from international support/media to grow.
Getting replies by care@ or any Jolla support didn't happen to me yet - not regarding the shipment or payment by the way.
What do we get for our support pledging for a Phone with low-mid tier hardware with high price compared to that? I gave you my hopes, yes - mostly for the software.
Don't dump me, you are on a good way doing so though! :(

/stops whining

ok, back to business then (topic). While I understand the frustration of some*, could we keep this thread to report whoever got a tracking number, the phone itself and/or any related questions/assumptions about what's going on? Thanks.

* Another thread for venting can always be open.

So at the moment we haven't found correlation between tracking numbers and Jolla's that are being shipped?

And if I got it right no one outside of Finland got their status updated to "In picked" or "Shipped"?

That's absolutely right, unless somebody can comment otherwise. I'm also quite interested in how many TMO folks who live in Finland got their device.

Looking at some of the Finnish forums it's is possible that that the 40 euro pre-orders are unfortunately given cold shoulder again no matter when the order happened.

We could keep a list of order numbers and their status here: Google spreadsheet

Hey, I'm not sitting in an igloo! :)

Anyway, it's just natural that shipping to addresses in Finland goes quicker than shipping anywhere in the EU.
The T-shirt took 5 days to go from Helsinki to Germany in summer. Itella is not DHL express, unfortunately.

Read this thread, I think it was juiceme who went into a DNA shop and asked. The post is among the pages of venting. Nothing has been said about preorders, except that at least 1 person in Finland got their phone in the post.

Technically, it means a different site, but we can observe that they set up a site for Finland and another one for the remainder of the supported countries.

Not to go too far yet just from that spreadsheet, but it seems like 3 most important points to get Jolla this early are: Shipping to Finland, 100e option and possibly first wave order.

There are few days after xmas as well, all they promised was delivery during December.

Think we 1 time 100eur pre-orders receive our Jolla "unlike" and "soon" just a bit after Portugal get it, as they plann to start sell also in December. http://www.jollatides.com/2013/12/03...stop-portugal/

Sure but almost no working days and who wants a Christmas present after Christmas? Before Christmas or they don't have to ship it to me but send it to someone that wants it. I can buy something else instead.
