Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
Version 0.1.6 (harbour-friends-0.1.6-1.19.1.armv7hl.rpm) works fine in Jolla. I'm now able to post and there seem to be no connection issues at all.

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
For version 0.1.7, I'm working on error handling and disconnections, so no more "something wrong happened" screen of death.

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
Releasing 0.1.7.
Bugfix version that will go to both OBS and Openrepos. You shouldn't have any problems with tokens and "something wrong happens", and I fixed some stuff here and there. You can also disconnect now ! Everybody is invited to update :) |
Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
Installed and seems to work!
Thx |
Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
Friends is open for translation now !
Feel free to request a language on transifex. Afterwards, ping me back and you will get your name in the credits page :) Don't mock me about using lolcat english as a default language, this is my attempt to have a "engineering english". Please contribute to the english project instead. |
Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish

It should be fixed :) but not released yet. I think I can add something more before releasing. Maybe something minor likes user information. |

FYI: Added Norwegian as a language today. Pls notify me/or here when the new translations is included into the package.
Question: Is "Friends" an open source project? (On GitHub?) Tx for your effort in developing this app! |

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
Friends was rejected from store.
The version I provided didn't had the possibility to logout. This has been fixed. There are also another problem that I will fix before submitting to store again. Stay tuned :) |
Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
0.1.8 is being released. It will hit both OBS, Openrepos, and Store as soon as possible.
Added the possibility to read notifications. Note that the notifications are not marked as read yet. This have to be fixed. I'm unsure about the design (should I use an icon, an entry in the menu etc ?), feel free to talk about this here ! |

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
How about having a "glow" under the notifications text, similar to glow in upper screen telling pulley is available?
|
Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
I have essentially 3 ideas about notifications / chat panel
1. Basic page Just like the current implementation, two entries in the main menu, one for the notification, one for the messages list. You get a glow / number in front of the entry if there is a new message / notification. You move to a new page when clicking on the entry. 2. Split view Two buttons / icons located somewhere opens a split view (just like in gallery fullscreen photo view). In the split view, you have access to the list of notifications, or the list of threads. 3. Attached page On the menu page, swipe right to get the notifications / chat page. I don't know how to display on this page, but maybe something that combines the notifications and the recent chat list. Vote for the idea you like the most, or propose yours. |

vote for #2

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
@Sfiet,
Whatever the solution, I think the key point is to be able to inform users, they got a notification/message wherever he is in the app (by a popup menu or something like that). I personnally like the current implementation (I love the global menu), the only thing annoying is when I'm using Friends and I have a new notifications, I'm not aware of. |

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
Hi,
update to 1.9 just worked with Warehouse. Thanks! |
Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
opening pictures from posts would be a great hudge improvement since most of today's content is more graphic then text.
i have to say: the app looks really great. keep up the good work ;) |
Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
Hey! the group option is missing :( please, add soon!.
|
Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
I think the "grouping by first name" of friends list is kinda useless and makes the list a lot longer than needed.

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
Sorry, I don't know if it was just asked, but it would be very useful to have a fast scroll mechanism in the friends list, like the one in the N9's address book for example. Now if I want to scroll down to "Valentina" it takes ages :p

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
Great work on this.
One suggestion maybe. On the multitasking screen have a refresh button like the native browser and email have when minimised. I find i use these a lot now, especially for media and we page refresh. It give the app that little sailfish extra. Agree with watchmaker re the scrolling but that is a criticism of the OS in its current version. |

In Mitakuuluu Coderus added something similar in the conversation threads, but when you swipe vertically near the edge, instead of triggering an alphabetic scrolling, you scroll messages per date. So I assumed (but I may be wrong, I'm no developer) that this kind of things were already possible, even if not enabled in system applications. |
Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish
is there any param we can put in desktop file or conf file to test a translation to a non-system sailfish language?
