Nice release. Norwegian translation seems to be working ok.
Missing one translation on the "Home / List" screen. (Notifications - entry in the list is not translated). But I guess it will come in a future release - no big deal.

How is it possible to see the version nr. from the app itself? (About section or something in the menu doesn't exist).

This feature is not planned at the moment (groups and page support is on higher priority) but will come after first major release.

Without any form of introduction, I have the pleasure to announce the immediate release of Friends 0.1.12. It is released in OBS and openrepos.

Changes includes:

• Group support
• Pages support

This should makes using Friends even more enjoyable.

Please note that I only included translations that were up-to-date. I know that translators have hard time following my breaks all the time.

For the next releases, I will focus on events, chat, and polishing here and there, so I can release a first stable Friends version.

There were some hiccups with translations in last release. And there are still some for the newer one.

About version, go to the right "attached" menu and pull down the menu, you can check the about here, and disconnect. You will also be able to setup stuff when there will be stuff to setup from here.

Tx for feedback. I think there was more translations (Norwegian) in 0.8 release than in the 0.12 :)
Updated the Norwegian language files to correspond to your last changes. Hope they will get it into next release.

There is no Friend in my Warehouse :/. Tryed reinstall Warehouse, no...

OK.. only with search and it has to search "fiends" with "friend" it's not found :D. but even now it's not on the fist page onw the warehouse.

Very minor release 0.1.13, fixed the translation issue. This is considered as a stable release and will go on Store, Openrepos and OBS.

Hello,

I had previously installed the app from openrepos using the rpm file. Since it's now in the store, I thought I would install it from there to get the updates automatically. So I uninstalled it (don't remember how, warehouse, long press on icon ?) and installed it from the jolla store.
It shows as version 0.1.13. However Jolla store keep saying there's an update, and it fails if I try to update saying more or less "there is an issue with the store"
I probably messed up something bewteen jolla store/warehouse/manual rpm install. Any idea how I can do a "clean" reinstall ?

EDIT : Actually I just realised that the version in my jolla store is 0.1.9-1.26.1 and not the one in the description of this thread 0.1.13

I just found today that Facebook API do not provide a nice way to send chat messages ... This is very sad, because this means that there will be no support for chat.

No it isn't. XMPP API is limited as it prevent you to access to features like group chat and attachment posting. I wanted to use official messages API, but it is limited since you cannot post nicely with it. (You can probably with a webview, but I don't like this)

When I scroll down the feed and the app loads more status updates, there seems to be a gap in time. I tried version 0.1.9 first and the gap was about 4 days, now I installed 0.1.13 and the gap is 6 hours. So first there are about 25 status updates and the oldest is 5 hours old, but when the app loads more, the next one is 11 hours old.

I was also wondering about some other missing updates, but I think they can be explained. Some have apparently disabled the app platfrom so I don't even see them in the phone's contacts. And one update was my friend commenting a song "via Spotify", which is a message that can be seen in FB's news feed, but not on the person's own wall. So maybe the API doesn't get those kind of messages.

In short, I can only use Facebook public API, and this API is not, feature wise, in parity with official Facebook website. So yeah, basically you cannot get anything, sadly.

Same thing here too... it is frustrating to have latest version 0.1.13-1.32.1 from openrepos, and jstore to insist to update to 0.1.9-1.26.1 while it cannot...
So are the above the the latest versions in openrepos, and in jstore?
Any fix to delete this false update notification in jstore?

I got rid of it by removing 'openrepos-Sfiet_Konstantin' refreshing and then reinstalling from Jolla Store.

So generally problem is that Jstore is not approving latest versions faster than they appear in openrepos.. ok, understandable :)

But still, this is a bug in Jstore, if I have already installed latest version of any app from warehouse or anywhere else, and Jstore keeps notifying me there is update, which Jstore does not contain or cannot provide of course, then this has to be addressed. I will formulate my issue in together.jolla, this is clearly Jstore related issue.

No release recently ? Well, this is because I'm working to get the 0.5.0 in shape. This version will be the first beta for the 1.0.0, and a serious and feature complete release !

This release is likely to happen quite soon, and will bring some more features. For instance, events will be supported, but only partially.

I will probably release one more beta before fixing the last bugs I have, and get a rock solid translation before 1.0.0

Today I'm releasing version 0.5.0 to testing and beta stream, meaning that both OpenRepo and OBS users will be able to get it.

0.5.0 is an important step. First, 0.5.0 is Friends 1.0.0 alpha. It comes with all major features for 1.0.0. This means that what I won't add more feature and focus on improvements for some time.

I'm counting on you to test 0.5.0 and feedback all the bugs you find. Ping me on IRC, Twitter, or leave messages on Friends Qt Facebook page, and in TMO, but I want bug reports ! It is needed to fix Friends and make it rock.

0.5.0 contains a lot of untranslated strings. It is normal since translators needs to catch up on translating. The good news for them is that they might not need to catch up again, because 0.5.0 should contain all the necessary strings.

What 0.5.0 have

• Read news feed
• Read user profiles
• Access to albums, photos
• Read messages in groups
• Access to pages, read messages in pages
• Access to events, reply to events
• Likes and comment
• Post on your profile

What 0.5.0 (and 1.0.0) don't have

Hm there seems to be an issue with translation in events view. I see
friend_event_organizer and friend_event_rsvp_rsvp (if click on it friend_event_action_[attend, unsure,decline] )

Are you talking about checkin ? For sure I need to implement it. But this takes time and I prefer to skip it for the first release. It can be included in features that will be in 1.1.0

Translators need time to catch up. Alpha 2 won't have this issue.

bugs:
- opening pictures posted in groups results in "Facebook has returned an error. The operation might not be permitted"
- longer names do not show correctly (do not wrap) on the cover page (if for example in the "Firstname 'Nickname' Lastname" format)

Also is there supposed to be anything other than my name on the cover? It's a wasted space and it's hard to recognize what app the cover belongs to.

first of all - awesome work. The app is really good addition to SailfishOS story.

then the other stuff, seen on version 0.5.0, on Jolla 1.0.2.5.
- list of features on 'my page' could be positioned a bit towards the top of screen or reduce the font. If you have 9 or more topics on that page, it does not look nice, esp. when you mostly want to check notifications first. Come to think of it, re-arrange the order, so that most used stuff is top most, then its ok?
- not able to 'like' people's comments separetely

major: if there are lot of replies in a thread - you cannot see them. You can of course add your comments. I'm talking of threads with 100 or more comments.

Bugs:
- If there are many likes, the like counter for albums and photos looks wrong
- Friends Qt Facebook page is not opened inside Friends
- Missing scroll decorator in changelog
- Posts with attachment and without picture are not displayed.

I download the app from Warehouse, the version is 0.5.0, but Jolla store keeps asking me to update.

When I click update, nothing is done and apparently it failed.

But that update notification just pops up in the lock screen.

Any suggestions on what to do ?
