Not happening yet, at some point it will happen.

This is not normal. Maybe you are in a specific (corner) case. Tried with other posts ?

-------------------------------------
In other news, here is a release of Friends integration project 0.3.0. In this version you can:
  • Link your friends account with a system Friends account
  • (When account created): get the events in events view
  • (When account created): get notifications.

Opening events view in Friends is a bit buggy ATM, but notifications works. You will also need to grab the "Next" version of Friends (ie Friends 1.0.50).

Have fun testing !

NOTE: this is a prerelease version, please test and report bugs, and suggest improvements :)

Thanks for your good work Sfiet_Konstantin!! :)

what would be the steps to have this working as expected?

I tried removing previous Friends version, and install both packages but nothing changed..

I have also the issue that the facebook main image is not being imported anymore as the background of that contact, do you have a clue why?

Thank you and sorry for too many questions! :)

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish

For installing friends integration, first install it, then go to accounts and select add account. Add a friends account by selecting "link to existing account". And it should work.

What do you mean by this ? Clicking on the image preview usually brings you the photo view with bigger image.

Hello, I never developed for the N900 (didn't even had the device). I don't know which version you are talking about.

N9 version won't be updated by me either. However, people can pick my code and do a port. Shouldn't be that hard.

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish

Hi,

since yesterday evening the "Home" option (aka as News feed) does not work anymore. A page shows up with the message "Facebook has returned an error. The operation might not be permitted."

Other features seem to work, though, for example the "Me" option, Albums, Photos, Friends, etc.

I have tried removing Friends.conf from ~/.config/harbour-friends/ as you suggest in the first page of this thread, and I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the application, but neither of these two worked.
I'm on version 1.03 from the Jolla store.

Does anyone else face the same issue?

The main thing I miss, is push notification, isn't possible to get it?

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish

Friends does not work properly with latest SailfishOS v.1.1.2.15. The friends App is unable to load more than seven feeds, the Facebook Account (related to friends not the other one which is used for native fb notifications) is not accessible from Settins > Accounts anymore and the "friends-integration-eventsview_delegate-posts"-applet does not work anymore and if I click on it it will break my Twitter and native Facebook applets so I am unable to access/open them anymore until I reboot.

Unfortunately this was bound to happen some day since this app hasn't been updated in ages...

Anyone else looking to make a Facebook app? This one seems to have been abandonded, and as far as I'm aware, it's the only one available for Sailfish OS.

Hello,

Yes, I have not been active these days on Friends. But as you know (see official Jolla announcements), Facebook have deprecated their old graph API, so, basically, Friends 1.X won't work anymore.

Meanwhile, as a teaser

And thanks for the good work ;)

Probably ;)
Maybe I'm building an unofficial Facebook library, and maybe I'm rebuilding Friends too. If it was the case, there might be a release soon, with minimal functionalities though.

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish

Little update:
I have been 3 weeks in China. Great firewall = no Facebook :( so I couldn't develop the app. I won't ship the next alpha until it can at least display feeds.

Way to go ...

Sfiet_Konstantin 2015-05-31 14:55

Re: [WIP] Friends, a Facebook client, now for Sailfish

tagged 1.50.0 on my "next" OBS repository.
Don't expect anything to work. It is only for me to test feeds.

If you want to look at what friends next looks, you can try to download a version from https://build.merproject.org/package...arbour-friends.

Spoiler: the UI did not changed at all :P
EDIT: don't be excited: gcc is too old for my code :(

Yeah, I'm abusing non-explicit constructors.
I really miss this one

You can disable this constructor by defining QT_NO_CAST_FROM_ASCII when you compile your applications.

This function was introduced in Qt 5.3.

EDIT: the build is finished. Only for those who are not afraid of stuff breaking, grab the RPM here.

Disclaimer: close to nothing is working.
