Re: Pebble Smart Watch...
Thank you for the update, Wonko. I'd never thought that my good old Pebble would be integrated completely so fast :) That's one of the many reasons I love FOSS. And my Jolla is adventurous at times, but never boring and it gets better and better.
So I kept my word and threw my N5 at the bay :D |
Re: [WiP] SkippingStones, Pebble Protocol Implementation and UI for Qt5/SailfishOS
Good to hear that it works. :)

Unfortunately, it may happen that one click is missed so that one has to press more often and may end up with music playing in the reminder view and music paused in the track+artist view. Right now, I don't care much about the reminder view (It's not working anyhow, right now.) so for pausing I press the middle button until it really pauses. For starting the playback, I only press the middle button when the reminder view is shown for switching back to the artist+title view. If the artist+title view is shown already, I use the top or bottom button for previous/next as this also resumes the playback. Rationale is, that, in this case, I actually want that the artist+track view is shown. |
Re: Pebble Smart Watch...
I think I may have found a bug. My SMS ringtone is a full MP3 song. If I now receive a SMS message, I get the notification on my pebble, but the ring tone keeps on playing. Is this expected? There seems to be no way to stop the ring tone...

Maybe a moderator could merge this and the other thread (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=92695)? So new people dont't have to switch to view the complete history...

Wonko, cant we mod the SmartStatus+ so that you will only see the music (instead of changing views to appointments)

Rationale being that, right now, a very long discussion about SkippingStones is in the other thread; if I see it correctly, it's essentially everything of the other thread except the first post. Furthermore, there is, imho, valuable information in the other thread as well, like the howto for patching the media player or MeeCast. I am not an expert on how complicated this will be, but maybe just adding everything except the first post from the other thread to this one will do? (And then add another post to the other thread with a pointer to this?) By the way, the link to the other thread is: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=92976 The other link above, somehow leads into the void. Quote:
There is the original source code by robhh: https://github.com/robhh/SmartStatus But the version with the music controls seems to be an adapted version of this and I couldn't find the source code for that yet. There is btw a version that does just exactly what you describe but it it only available for SDK 1.0, right now: http://www.mypebblefaces.com/apps/4805/6490/8223/ |

Some details about the background: SkippingStones just forwards the notification. It does not mark the notification as "read" or "accepted". Hence, the phone doesn't know anything about what SkippingStones did. So, it just performs its normal task for when an SMS was received. One option to change that would be to cause SkippingStones to mark/clear notifications once it receives them. Another, more complicated one, could be to wait until the SMS view was closed on the Pebble and then silence the notification. However, this requires that the watch sends a notification about this and I don't even know if it does so. So, this is just a very wild guess. But well, without wanting to sound repetitive, I will likely not have the time to look into this. Quote:
