2GB ram? did you lose 3 in there? 32GB is what I expect from a phone that has to handle twitter in 60fps, no less

what i am expecting from j2 is a hefty price tag and that will be my main concern. current price tag fluctuates between 14 and 17 Gs on snapdeal and i can afford that but if with new features and hardware the price of new jolla goes north i will be showing middle finger to jolla and will hunt for yu yureka or yuphoria. hell i have been waiting for too long for a dual sim variant.

I'd happily get a high priced/high spec phone from Jolla, if they ever made one (which is highly unlikely by the looks of it). They can always continue selling the first one as a cheap option, it still works and it's still faster than the competition on the same or better hardware but running on Android or iOS.

Dual sim card, bigger screens, weird shapes (that's you, Dave999), etc. aren't my concern.

Hell, if we have to go with partners now and the hardware is unacceptable (read: bad call quality and so on, typical Samsung-like standards) I'd even get another Jolla when mine stops working as it's still faster than any other mid/high end phone I've tried so far.

There is always hope when they want to sell an idea (TOH obviously didn't sell itself, who knows if yotta3 phone will not have the same position of pins though and get on 'the only freaking slider HWKB (with magnets f yeah!)' hype train, there are a couple of million people waiting for hwkb)

edit: just for illustration, with around 40-50k jollas sold, HW keyboard captured 20-25% of the market, having pins defined in google like agreement: you sign for sailfish, you need to keep 4.5 (lol) inches and the same... not an option, but, easy solution is getting a new top OH, keep your keyboard, just print a new adapterOH, yay, lets hope yotta/india/china/brazil thinks OH is a cool concept to keep i2c at least

edit: as a conspiratard will admit it: Jolla from brazil, for me will be perfect, the strong independent woman there (gee, it is possible) hates NSA, she can deliver a secure phone (brazilians can see my dick pics every day all day, huehue)

Uhm... what I'm reading between the lines is that Jolla can't invest resources on this. It seems that making a new phone is a royal pain, especially when you have localised requirements such as dual sim for countries like India (which isn't 100% accurate as some folks there need 3 sim cards) or disc phones for Italy or 600" screens for characters of Alice in Wonderland after they've eaten the correct mushroom and the list goes on and on. Even Apple has options - you get an old iPhone for an expensive price or a new one for a VERY expensive price.

TOH is a great idea that didn't get enough traction, sadly. I'm getting the hardware keyboard and I fear that I won't be able to let go of the first Jolla due to that feature :-) I don't know how other manufacturers can do the same thing, maybe license it from Jolla? That'd be cool. The idea of buying cases that make your phone bigger and connect to your micro USB port and give you something such as battery or a keyboard or an espresso machine is not too nice to me.

I too believe with it I'll be back in N900 country, spending idle time on buses etc recompiling stuff, soon

Can I license from you placing i2c pins here and there? How much do you charge for a meter apart? :P

thank the lord there are third party manufacturers coming online... provided i'll be able to buy them in the UK.

rather hoping the intel connection continues, using either a current intel baytrail (with intel GPU - do they make phone SKU's with that?), or with an X5 cherrytrail.

basically condense the jolla tablet specs down into a phone format.

with the addition of type C Usb3.0. we can dream, can't we?
