is it not possible to change the server settings on the client and use a own server with e.g. openfire? i wich realy that some one can port Chatsecure to Sailfish :/ |
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
@cvp: Telegram is not XMPP compliant as far as I understand, so forget about OpenFire. And their server is not open source, so you can't run your own. Another centralized service in the age of mass surveillance doesn't sound like something to be excited about at all.
People can use XMPP instead of all these broken attempts to reinvent the wheel. I guess some people never learn. |

Don't know if this has already been posted:
Telegram, AKA “Stand back, we have Math PhDs!” Yay, custom non-peer reviewed crypto! :) But, well, they know math so everything should be fine, right ? ... |

Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
@coderus: Be my guest, $200,000 is useful. Just don't use the service and don't proliferate its usage, because that's already damaging ;)

Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
ahah, sorry, i'm not paranoid :D

Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
@coderus: It's not about being paranoid. It's about damaging others and being irresponsible doing it by proliferating a bad service. I.e. you using it doesn't affect just you. It affects others - negatively.
Here is an interesting article which describes this kind of issue: http://betabeat.com/2011/12/in-which...g-on-facebook/ |
Re: Telegram on SailfishOS
