No email search and no changes to the media app.

uii feels a lot smoother and the display brighter and crisper especially the covers which have a far brighter background now. I like the new keyboard too.

Are you talking about your Jollaphone? What about settings->developermode? It justs lists the ip of your phone also the pw.

Yes, I talk about Jolla. I can not open settings->developermode as NOTHING opens at all. I can only see home screens. No apps are working. Not even terminal on the phone.

Are you able to see your wifi router admin screens? That should help you find the IP your Jolla currently has, assuming you don't have lots of unknown devices on your network.

terminal would mean developer mode, if tou had enabled ssh head to irc for help (freenode, #jollamobile)

Thanks. I wish I was more surprised. Both the mail & the media app are missing basic features (e.g. search, in both cases) and have obvious bugs. I'm too lazy/busy to research these right now, but has anyone noticed:
  • Unified mailbox is often out of date compared with individual mailboxes
  • Long MP3 file (e.g. 2 hour mix) shows up as 20:00 (i.e. 20 minutes) in the media player

Another one: is SDL finally allowed in harbour? (tetrepetete is sooo cool and addicting, it's '90s yet again) Did the qml bugs in displaying imgs got fixed so quickddit is usable for cat viewing(and official together app can reinstate swipe back)?

edit: quickddit, it's the double d not t stupid
edit2: get tetrepetete here: https://thp.io/2013/tetrepetete/ really the coolest version of the game that starts with T I've had the chance to play (though no pause on swipe out, which can happen, so watch out when you hit that 80k, it's crazy at that point)

SDL: Not yet (https://github.com/sailfish-sdk/sdk-...libraries.conf), but sometime in the future.

QML bugs: if you can provide me with a testcase (ideally reported in Qt's bugtracker upstream at bugreports.qt-project.org), I can get it looked into.

Thanks! I'll ask quickditt dev to post actual bug, in its thread he mentioned it being qml/qt bug that any image > jolla native resolution screwed with the ability to swipe back. Thank you!

edit: it is obviously quickddit, not tt, gah

Got the right IP from the router. Now SSH connects over wifi.
Fixed phone using these instructions: https://together.jolla.com/question/...fore-updating/

I liked the old look better. Think it was more consistent. The highlight of new covers looks strange for example. Also the ambient color calculation was better before. My favorite picture which was orange ambient color now is ugly yellow

But the performance got really improved (wasn't bad before)

I didn't follow latest announcements. Is there any ETA when Sailfish installation instructions for CyanogenMod based hardware adaptations will be published? (Same question goes for Nemo I guess). Waiting for updated Jolla hardware revision with another modem is probably futile until the next device, but installing Sailfish on other devices can be a good option meanwhile.

Know any android device where injection/monitor mode works? Latest I heard is Galaxy II, which is quite dated (and with supposedly same driver/hw as N900 which made XDA guys make it real), filling up niches like pentesting could result in a few k more devices sold (or few more k OS installations performed)

No idea. But Galaxy II seems to have better specs than N9 CPU wise. There is also another point for any such device to consider - ergonomics. It should have a flat screen with no bumps on the sides. Since Sailfish relies on edges swipes a lot, any such bumps would be really irritating.

Problem is any (other) modem/wifi will still rely on libhybris/android drivers in Sailfish, so even crowdsourcing such work like lxp did with n900 is unlikely (Kickstarter, sure, just much more likely to happen on the android version first, and only then libhybris could work on supporting all bleeding edge functions). Jolla guys have been mentioning of being able to prepare a WIP adaptation in 24hrs, so this part should be at least far from unlikely. Still, if whole XDA forum lacks a pentesting-able device...

Re: Sailfish now on 1.0 (Jolla MWC announcement)

I really dislike the new cover background. It's too fussy, too bright and the texture doesn't fill the cover tile it sits on. The tile has square corners but the texture has rounded corners.

People at least now gets the contact type right indicating work/home etc but you still can't edit contacts from Google. Needless to day, CardDAV/CalDAV didn't make the cut this time either.

I seem to have had more low memory app shutdowns since the update.

Keyboard improvements are good though it still doesn't switch to uppercase after a period.

Typing in textareas in the browser has improved though the cursor disappears occasionally.

Sure, it will have to use libhybris and Android drivers. I thought that was their major plan (to use CM hw adaptation with libhybris for Sailfish). I.e. at least until native glibc drivers for any SoC will appear. Even with efforts like Freedreno, it doesn't seem to be happening on a scale to make such SoC usable. Probably until Intel will release open drivers for their new SoC in 2015 libhybris is the only way.
