Ok.. I can confirm that :O, but you can set data roaming off and you should, if you travel.

i have always connection ON so, it's not that bad for me and this time it working with a Wlan :D. I think 1.0.3.8 is the worst update which Jolla ever has (from day one from Helsinki [163 :P]). After the factory reset it jumped over it :D. Fist update was 1.0.2.5 and then 1.0.4.20.

Now even android cover is not suddenly closed. People app is get closed ~2x, but nothing else.

What i want? You may ask.

-2tab zoom out from the zoomed photo/gallery picture. Should be there already!
-if you delete some "ben larger" email (uknow you do not want to read it) it say unreaded 1 in deleted mails. Can it be like: delete function -> mark as read & delete?
-Home screen scrolling lags, not much but it will, if you swipe, wait, swipe, wait (easy to confirm with a tool inside developer menu). Something doing with cpu/gpu MHz and touch or not touch?
-whole Sailfish working with a landscape mode :).
-able to copy text with the browser (text on pages)

This keeps getting better and better -.-

You try that??

Code:

version --dup
if that is not work, you have to reset it OR your Jolla is broken. When and if you reset your jolla.. After backup, delete all your pictures and videos :).

Fortunately I did disable openrepos before updating but now I don't remember which ones I had enabled, any way to find them???

Also yesterday when hanging up on a call phone randomly rebooted have no idea why and haven't been able to reproduce.

Re: Sailfish now on 1.0 (Jolla MWC announcement)

version --dup update your OS to latest version. But i am unable to find any document about this command. i think it compare packages version and install proper one for the version you ask for, in this case it is not specified, so it take the latest one.

As for the disabled repos, you can check the ssu -lr command which will list repos, even disabled ones.

Anyone else experiencing this problem:

i set up wpa enterprise by hand (eduroam). After the update my /etc/resolv.conf doesn't get a valid nameserver entry (only localhost, 127.0.0.1 as nameserver)

---

Edit: other wireless networks worked fine.

Edit2: a reboot did the trick (still have no clue why only eduroam was affected)

I wouldn't want Jolla to use resources for any of these... other more sought features plus outstanding bugs come first. Then again, there are business reasons why Jolla would want to start porting to lesser devices just now - I guess a question in tjc + voting would sort out the desire level gauge.

I have serious issues with the design/quality/look/screen size so I'm desperate for new hw. Love the OS though.

According to below news, Jolla's and their subcontractor's ordering books are already full and they can't ship more devices than what has been already ordered:

http://www.kauppalehti.fi/etusivu/jo...a/201403661142

Antti Saarnio says is article that "it is already clear that they will sell hundreds of thousands of phones during spring and summer".

Better than I was expecting, not bad...

Excellent news if true. Really great! I have to say I'm surprised and also glad. Sail on while waiting for jPhone ll.

I will celebrate by ordering another Android while waiting for jolla to release something cool. Z ultra white. 6,4 inch screen is the size. That's what jolla should release next I hope. A big ****ing phone¡

How do he know that. I'm skeptical...Unless they release something new or open up more markets im call his hand...

I asked about approx ETA for Android launcher just a 2 month approx and got negative comments on XDA (lots) and one or two negative comments and negative Karma on tjc.

I suppose that for tjc it should be a poll-like question with 2 answers: 1. I want Android HW port fast!; 2. I want Androd HW port deprioritised in favour of other features so that you don't get bad karma. I personally don't care about karma, but it always feel bad getting negative karma ;-)

I get Dave999's point of wanting different hardware, but personally my opinion is on the other extreme, as I don't concur that options out there are even acceptable for my requirements, with Nokia being the only exception. Oh, and I hate big screens... the Jolla's is a tad too big, or maybe not the screen but the phone.

Anyway, I expect this thread to be of a miscellaneous nature from now on until update5 is close :-D Are we there yet? ha ha

Had 3 bugs one after another today, first mobile connection stopped working, airplaining it on/off caused a reboot (green led type) and after that had to play find waldo as all icons got shuffled. Worst of all, 2/3 of first page icons ended up on the last. Rearranging them one by one took quite a while. Might need to revert to 1.0.3.8 if this continues to happen. But fluidity is indeed improved

Sorry, but have you checked your btrfs volume hasn't run out of unallocated space?

I've been slowly studying the workings of btrfs filesystem here:
https://together.jolla.com/question/...ious-problems/

Some of the symptoms align with mine before finding out that there is more to btrfs than meets the eye.

In short 'btrfs fi show' command will tell you if you have any raw space left. If not, it may be the cause of the problems. Running balance operation resolves this (if you are still able to do it).

It is not enough just to do factory reset and update again. The initial problem persists through factory resets, as it is just a btrfs snapshot and not a disk image.

Thanks, but not at this time. Had problems previously with snapshots not being removed after factory reset, but now have 4Gb left on the phone which is more or less accurate (actually less, as android uninstalls do not seem to release space properly, trying out if Asphalt 8 works on Jolla cost me 1Gb of space, for the curious works, though not multiplayer, neither online, nor wlan, edit: actually, the file were just left, just regained 1.7gb, yay!)

Looks unencoded base64. If the email shows ok with other email clients it is most likely a problem with Jolla email client, and you should make a case of it at together.jolla.com.

If other email clients show it the same way, then it was probably double-encoded in the sender end.

These type of problems are quite common and happen in situations where, for instance, the character set on client (regional settings) clash with the email character set, which is UTF-8 in this case.

You may try switching language in your phone to English, if it was not already, to see if it helps. In this case you should recreate this email user account on your phone, as the email client doesn't necessarily store the email in the original form it came in.

Some years ago the problems were common mainly with HTML content type emails, but lately I've seen a lot of problems with plain text emails, such as this.

Other possibility might be that the server end at your provider (nokia?) may have been "optimized" for only a handful of phone device clients. Optimizing means here that the server software provider may have had to go against email standards to get, say, Windows Phone clients to work properly. This could be possible because Windows Phone clients do not do plain text UTF-8 email messages very standards compliant. I've been troubleshooting such case myself...

Does this account use IMAP or ActiveSync?

I'm answering myself: the "battery trick" (extract, wait, put again) did it for me. No more hangs nor "autoconnects".

Guess I'm gonna do this trick every update.

thx for answer.. english is my default language, but maybe problem is recipient :) maybe there is another language, and you have right when say "encoding" problem. Thx for that. In my sent mail text is normally, but recipient get that "error" mail.
I try with more recipient and see what will happen?
That problem not only with nokia mail (ovi) i have same situations with yahoo account ...and account use IMAP.

thank you one more time, for helping...

reason: Solved! Encoding problem, only with Blackberry mail...

Um, it's a port of Sailfish to (some) Android devices, not Android to Android devices...
AlienDalvik is a proprietary layer, I doubt it'll be available on Android devices running Sailfish.
Perhaps Jolla/Myriad will offer it eventually, but I doubt it'll ever work as well as the Jolla Ph.
Unless demand for Sailfish on Android devices grows far more rapidly than Sailfish on Sailfish hw.
Then (& only then) priorities may change....

Thank you!

It seems an almost impossible job trying to port Alien Dalvic (regardless of legal issue) from experience of N9 port, I guess similar happens with Android port as well unless Jolla decides to make it work I guess.

Really hope Sailfish works with some elegant hardware with better screen camera and build quality such as SonyXperia with Alien Dalvik...

A static text display, without any selectable action, on the Pulley Menu is absolutely a wrong way to use the Pulley Menu.

I know Jolla is Unlike, but some of these are just Unwanted.
