Yeah, WiFi only is fine, but once I put a SIM card in and started using mobile Internet connectivity, it often just fails to switch cleanly from one to the other, falling flat on the face into the proverbial mud on the imaginary ground.

I only got my Jolla week ago, but have had zero issues with connectivity so far. Of course, I installed all the updates immediatly.

Connectivity issues have lessened since I resorted to turning off WIFI before leaving my house, but that's not really an elegant solution. But I'm confident the next update will bring an improvement.

Same kind of problems faced here. The wifi works usually well but I have noticed that many times the connection to wifi gets cut off and after that it is pretty much just trying to connect and gives just "Problem with connection".

The wifi is fine as my iPhone and Lumia can stay on the wifi with no problems.

And because of that connection problem i think the phone has to use more power to constantly switch between wifi -> 3g

Re: Sailfish now on 1.0 (Jolla MWC announcement)

i use a very simple workaround for those connection problems:
i never turn on wifi and mobile network at the same time.

you can set shortcuts for both on the settings app and switch easily by hand, when you go outside for a longer time. as long as i'm at home or in the office i only use wifi, when i go outside for a longer time, i turn wifi off and mobile network on.

no problems and very long battery life, when using it that way...

hopefully theres a fix for the notifications that seems to spam error with connection when some applications wont let it alone

Jolla started to tag some issues on TJC with 'mar14'

I hope there will be more fixes than linked. LTE-support, network/connman problems and sudden reboots are nor linked with 'mar14'.

I hope there's a fix for the call-log so that I don't do so many accidental calls. It is too easy to dial out from there by mistake.

Jolla, give me the update, nooooow! I'm getting all crazy here.

@TrD, cool thanks for the tip, i forget it :)
now its better, because i can choose faster to send a sms/email or call other number from the contact.

but a better call history is need it, like incommiung/outgoing and timestamp if the call is older than 1 day.

I think and hope it will be in next update because the phone UI looks very different and contains also quick launch icons (I think they are for this purpose) as you can see on different MWC hands-on videos. :)

Anyone know WHEN in mar14 ? :)

I read on an answer on together about week10, which should be this one?

Re: Sailfish now on 1.0 (Jolla MWC announcement)

Update is planned next week (probably end of next week?)

Let me add that I have uptime up to 23 days... but I do not have (yet) a sim in the phone and so only have wifi on. But I use it every day and have no big issues (apart from some slowness when it has no network and is looking for one). Additionally, yesterday I had to reboot (after 23 days up) as the load seemed too high for no reason...

I saw a tweet that stated next week (w/c Monday 10th or Sunday 9th, depending on your education/beliefs/secret society you belong to).

Is the 1.0 as the same as the update to MWC? Or is that MWC had just a stopgap?

Sadly I'm less convinced by this. I'd be happy to be surprised, though

Good because if its just a slightly improved camera application then it would be a bit sad, then again, the phone currently works well for me, a bit of tweaking with the notifications system, the wifi and switching between that and 3G would be just fine. Oh also a fix for the Android lag unless there is a Sailfish overlay

Saying "we are officially out of beta" doesn't really mean they are.
A couple of questions:
a) seamless SIP/XMPP integration?
b) offline navigation?
c) LTE implementation?

Quite so. I rather suspect that, (perhaps) like the launch date for the phone, this is a milestone they need to reach for their potential partners.

I'm hoping support for paid apps in Jolla store and whatever else Meerun team in waiting will appear in the next update.

:) Personally, I dont give a rats a.. about MMS. But, agree, if this is also a consumer device, it should be there.
I would much better see bug fixes, like for example, proxy settings, and openssl/openssh (allthough, we fixed that here LOL)
Oh, and Jolla, feel free to grab my fixes/and/orimprovements

I saw a tweet which inferred it. Just been checking back and can't find it. Can't say i am too bothered. Will just be happy if connection error is fixed then I can retire my N9 again.

No it should not be there because of the consumers... There is way more important stuff that should be there before MMS.

I am to lazy list them here but it should be obvious what is more important for consumers this days....

Nokia made similar claims with WP7x: "the beta test is over" (big marketing campaign etc) & it ended up back-firing big time within their user-base (me being one of them -hangs head in shame).

Let me repeat myself. I dont give a rats a.. about SMS.

Let me name a few that is imprtant for me
1. Full proxy support
2. WLAN monitor mode
3. WLAN packet injection
4. USB host mode support (yes, I would like a cabled connection attached also)
5. Updated SDK to match release firmware
6. LOADS of updated binaries. They are most very outdated. Openssl is crippled, and so is OpenSSH.

SMS, Skype, MSN, Exchange, IRQ, Jabber, etc etc similar messaging, I also dont give a rats behind.

and - top of my list - a fully downloadable, restorable, factory image of the firmware. UPDATED ASOONASANYTHINGISRELEASED.

Plenty have bricked their devices, I was close. and worse, after a so-called factory reset, I was left with v. 1.0.0.5 version, which would update anything.
Only thing that saved my ***... was a backup, and my unlocked bootloader!
