I'm guessing that users can't swipe between languages?

That's fine if not, having swype is more important than having a second keyboard :)

Would be nice to have but I guess this will not be achievable as swiping on the keys is exactly interpreted as is (swiping to write) and cannot be distinguished from 'keyboard change' swipe.
But at least you can change by long-press the space bar!

maybe depending on where the swype starts from? In Harmattan you could change between swype keyboard and normal swyping from the side.

I'll take long press on space to change keyboards!

Thanks for pointing out that this works & for eber42's update :-)

I recently has acquired one of the last Jolla supported devices: The Xperia 10 Plus. This is a 6.5" screen device with a 21:9 screen ratio and, saddly, when using with OKBoard, it reports: "Screen size not supported".

I love this swipe keyboard, so, do you think there will be any chance to continue using it on large screen devices?

Re: Advanced text entry on Sailfish (Swype or similar)

I use OKboard all the time (thanks!), it's a great feature. Sometimes I had to restart it, which was fine. But now I have to restart it very often.

The cause of it, I think, is the app I wrote myself: GMFS. it seems every time I use a Dialog with numerical input, like
Code:

inputMethodHints: Qt.ImhFormattedNumbersOnly
OKboard stops working when the keyboard is back to QWERTY.

Is there a command I can use in my app - QML/JS - to revive OKboard?

Thanks for the report, I can reproduce this issue with your app.
The problem is probably on OKboard side but I do not really understand it for now.
I will try to look for a fix in the following days.

Any news on running OKBoard on large-screen phones (i.e. Pro1)?

Above issue (switching to QWERTY) is solved and a new release is out.

I have got a Pro1. Now I have to find some time to install SFOS.

Re: Advanced text entry on Sailfish (Swype or similar)

Random tangent question for anyone - I want to ise modifier keys on Jolla Keyboard, (ctrl, alt, etc). I've dug around in qml files and tweaked layouts, etc, but I get the sense that there's no code to enable those functions with standard Jolla kb. However, I know from using harmattan dev layoit by karin_zhao, https://openrepos.net/content/karinz...oard-harmattan , that it is possible to do it using XT9 handler. Problem is that now I'm using commune port with aarch64, so no XT9 by default, and my XA2 can't help anymore, since it's not aarch64, (I was pulling official files fro there before). So, Obviously it's possible to code the modifier functions into an app, (terminals), but I'm not knowledgeable enough ...
Anyone know how to make it happen? Harmattan dev layout qml uses code called "qtkey" and a silica list view to send the functions through XT9 handler. I tried mamy things to modify default kb handler using similar code, but it either does nothing or breaks kb...
Any ideas appreciated ...
