Re: Donating my N9
Reading almost the whole thread I start to believe what Dave999 believed from the start!
I mean how did it got "lost"? And all of this charging issues. It sounds so weird... Let's hope that everything is true, but it seems a strange story for me. |

scam/No scam - Are you guys trying to alienate people who want to donate to the community and support developers by questioning their motives again and again? IT'S A GIFT! so be thankfull if it makes it's way to cepi and if it does not.... well no harm done! |
Re: Donating my N9
Its not a 'scam' in any way. Thats a genuine USPS tracking link attached, and its stuck in customs at Argentina.

This was just a gift from someone... correct me if I'm wrong... Edit: I think we could contact their post office to ask what is wrong with the package, because this was just a gift |
Re: Donating my N9
Welcome to latin america guys !!! Here in Brasil they charge us 60% even on shipping costs. Only if it is a gift AND costs under 50 USD shipping included they will dont charge.

Re: Donating my N9
I have some donations from community (for my SailfishOS theme) and I can give some of them to @justadude if he wants.

Actually I think that it is a nice move to donate a phone that is just sitting on a shelf or something, but the whole situation was a little strange from the beginning. As HtheB wrote somewhere why justadude wrote that high amount if it was just a gift? Nevermind, I don't know what exactly is happening with this and I don't want to insult anyone, so let's hope it is just a problem and it will be solved sooner or later! :) |
Re: Donating my N9
I'm not sure what happens to packages stuck in customs in Argentina but if it cannot be returned by contacting customs or the postal service for their help, I would suggest justadude contact his country's embassy in Argentina, explain what happened and see if they can either find a way to waive the fee or have the n9 returned to him. If it is returned, and he so chooses, it could be sent again but with a much lower value assigned to it.
