HELP! N9 Device cant start via power button inits USB and shuts itself down.

Please help. My N9 is starting only USB plugged, the power button shows no function, cant even tell that is is shutting down after 8 seconds hold. After plugged USB the diod lights up steadily for some time before the device is present on the computer( NOKIA logo on the screen of the phone) I becomes available for the flasher for a limited time and then shuts down. I have tried to flash but it times out before the process finishes, timeout 5000 or something like that is the error.

Could somebody tell me how to make the device stay connected for a decent reflash?:(

What if you try Flasher -R, does it reboots?

I would imagine a discharged battery bellow a min level can cause such behaviour? but I might be wrong.

You probably need to get some charge in the battery first.

This guide may help.

flasher -R executes with success but the device does not seam to restart or do anything apart from the normal cycle.
The only flashing process that succeeds flasher -f -F main.bin --flash-only-cmt... It manages to finish flashing before the limited time window of USB interface availability pases.

By the way I somehow managed to bring the nokia logo up again, I think I owe it to the cmt flash, saw it once and cant really tell where in the process.

Sorry guys. I missed to say the battery is 100% ok.

If you dont mind restoring data then go with a ful OS and EMMC reflash

I believe its:
flasher -f -F main.bin -F emmc.bin

That may work. If the usb drops remove the last two parts (-F emmc.bin) and try again.

You could also try replacing the case and powerbutton by disassembling the phone

Re: HELP! N9 Device cant start via power button inits USB and shuts itself down.

Yes, I agree that would be a perfect solution. In my case, as it appears, the phone is in a some kind of time frame cycle which is too short for the flash process to finish.

So, the problem is reading and writing to certain parts of flash memory abort with communication timeout?
Eh, doesn't look good for the device.
