I luckily had settings in powermenu2 so got to the patchmanager to unapply :)

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

so, don't you have settings in lockscreen pulldown menu? :D

All working well now, thanks coderus for your brilliant work

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

Thanks Coderus for the update! But: With this patch in use, it seems I can't have the system default black Launcher background. It's either themed (textured) background or "system colour background" which picks color from ambience.

@ssahla you can. disable both and set opacity to 100% and it will be black again.

Ok, that's right. Feel stupid now. :) But when I first installed the patch, the Launcher became 100% transparent - just the icons, no background at all. So I didn't realize I'd get back the black background by enabling and disabling the other alternatives.

Works beautifully on the Nexus 5, thanks a lot @coderus.

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

@coderus: brilliant work on launcher combined patch
The only thing I'm wondering is what is "free scroll view" supposed to do, as I never heard of it.

Regards,

J4ZZ

coderus 2015-09-28 20:50

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

it's allowing to free scroll without pages :)

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

coderus, when the phone is on Device lock, the phone doesn't rotate anymore (untill you entered the device code)

Is there a way to make the homescreen rotate even if it's on locked state?

Edit:
This does not always happen though... I still haven't figured out when exactly it happens

Edit2:
I installed the launcher patch, its wonderful!
Just one note: There is no transition when you're inside an app folder and when you press on an empty space to go back to the main app drawer

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

@coderus: Just saw the new folder icons; "stacked" and "mixed" are looking plain awesome. :D

I already have that patch installed.
(I'm assuming you're talking about UI Rotate Free right?)

(Side note: is there a way to disable "upside down rotation" in the UI Rotate Free patch?)

coderus 2015-09-29 00:30

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

upside rotations are the main features of that patch!

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

coderus, I have a favor to ask.

On the launcher patch, when you change the folder icon to grid style, it shows the app icons that are on the first row. This is a very nice approach :)
But, it shows it in this order at the moment:
3 4
2 1

It actually sounds more sense to me to have them in this order:
1 2
3 4

Thanks again! I really appreciate it.

Coderus, the latest version of Launcher Combined patch (0.2.5-1) does something strange. When the patch is applied, app labels in Launcher are moved down, sometimes overlapping icons below or dropping off-screen, depending on screen orientation and grid settings. See attached screenshot.

@coderus

Any chance to port Eventsview notifications remove swipe patch to 1.1.9.28, pretty please?

coderus 2015-10-06 18:22

well, probably yes :)

coderus, much obliged. I have sent you some beer money showing my appreciation for your work.

I have also made a small donation to Ancelad and nodevel since I am using their patches on daily basis.

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

Sorry for the double post. There is one more thing that bugs me:D I simply can not get used to status bar it is just to common and widely used and as such not unlike at all.

Question is how to get rid of status bar and bring back the days of 1.1.7.28 single taps raising battery and celular indicators on homescreen?

coderus 2015-10-08 06:42

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

factory reset and upgrade to 1.1.7.28 and remove your jolla account from phone.

Uninstall works for me =)
Unapply patch and run as root
Code:

rpm -e --noscripts sailfishos-analog-lockscreen-clock

Just a small thing, but should the RPM not be built in such a way that uninstall would unapply the patch automatically? ;)

It does when uninstall is usual, and doesn't with --noscripts

Just did a downgrade to 1.1.7.28 but it sure feels like an upgrade:D

Code:

devel-su                ## Use your SSH password here
ssu release 1.1.7.28    ## Your target OS version - change if needed
version --dup

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

Patchmanager seems to work great on the tablet too :)

@Ancelad: Your analog clock and enhanced powermenu patches are not really arm dependent, why don't you make them noarch? :)

peterleinchen 2015-10-19 07:33

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

A great tool with great options.

But also lots of confusions.
I have no idea how to do but would really love to have someone clean up patch base. I.e. marking those patches somehow to be compatible with a specific SFOS (possibly only latest) version?
I still have patches lingering in patch manager which are not compatible but might become - or not. (e.g. the ”totally unnecessary/playground/inevitable 'text selection in browser' patch” , okay that was sarcastic ;))

Anyone any idea?
A manual list to be checked by each user each time - and to be updated by devs - would be only last resort, or?

I will rebuild them with noarch-flag. I use arm because I don't have tablet :)

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

@peterleinchen: SFiet_Konstantin did clean the i486 tablet packages and Patchmanager is completely empty after the install. :) Probably will do that for arm too.

Okay for a new install. But imagine some months and SFOS versions further. There will again be a mess of old, maybe not yet updated - maybe obsolete, patches and new patches. Like now ...

I would really welcome an option to delete an OpenRepos entry. Not add "[Deleted]" to the subject but properly delete it, leaving no traces. Taking care of obsolete patches would then become a bit easier.

I've updated my patches with noarch flags

Thanks, this would make them more easy to install until Warehouse is released.
