Great! Thanks for the info! I did not catch those options to my eyes earlier :)

Only if knew something about coding.. This is the most annoying feature of SFOS 2, after OOM killer problem, which was solved recently :)

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

Okay, now I have a problem. Just woke up and picked up my Jolla, and recognized that homescreen had rebooted (all the app covers had disappeared). Tried to open the apps again, but most of them don't work anymore. Then I opened Patchmanager, which gives an error message:

Quote:

Warning! The backup copy of homescreen QML files are corrupted, and this cannot be fixed. Please be sure to restore homescreen by running zypper in -f lipstick-jolla-home-qt5 before rebooting, or you risk bricking your device without being able to recover it
So I tried that. The vkb didn't show up in terminal, so I ssh:ed to the device. Appears that I don't have zypper installed, and 'pckon install zypper' gives "Segmentation fault", so does 'pkcon lipstick-jolla-home-qt5'.

Any idea, what to do next? I have no idea, how this ever happened, since I haven't done any tweaking with my Jolla for weeks. Just basic daily use.

Thanks a lot!

Nope. That "Segmentation fault" prevents doing that. I guess it has something to do with repository, because the Store app also gives some error 'critical problem with apps registry' or something.

Code:

[nemo@Jolla ~]$ devel-su
Password:
[root@Jolla nemo]# pkcon install lipstick-jolla-home-qt5 jolla-settings jolla-settings-system sailfishsilica-qt5
Segmentation fault
[root@Jolla nemo]#

So no help with that either. Should I do a factory reset, or does it even repair the lipstick? Any other ideas?

I had the exact same problem a couple of months ago, every step of it.
Ended up with factory reset and problem "solved".

Sounds great. Were you still able to make backups? And do you know what triggered the problem in your case?

I always keep a reasonable fresh backup in my cloud storage, so didn't have to fiddle with that.
I was doing something I shouldn't have done in terminal. I don't remember exactly what I did, but it was indeed self-inflicted. ;)

I don't really know if this can help or if you have a different issue, but for "critical problem with app registry" problem there are possible fixes:

- Rebuild the app registry with Sailfish Utilities (https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/a...6#app_registry)

Wtf.. Rebuilding app registry did the trick. Apps act normally again, I can use the store and Patchmanager doesn't give any error message anymore. I was just going to do factory reset, so I can't even describe how grateful I am. :p But thank you!

PS. Lucky me, as I had Utilities installed. Because I couldn't have installed Utilities with this error on, because it wouldn't let me install anything.

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

Rebuild db script is:
Code:

    echo "Manually rebuild db"
    # does not matter if other "*store*" processes will be terminated.
    # Anyway, device are going to be rebooted after this script is
    # executed
    pkill store
    pkill packagekitd
    # wait a bit and kill if needed. But packagekitd can be started by
    # means of d-bus call by any process
    sleep 4
    pkill -9 store
    pkill -9 packagekitd
    rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db.00*
    rpm --rebuilddb

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

Hello all, I am not sure that my issue is 100%ly caused by the Patchamnager, but I have not installed anything since then, so I assume yes. My problem is the following:
The virtual keyboard disappeared after installing the patch manager and the disable lock screen animation patch.

I have tried everything (uninstalling both the PM and the patch reboot, etc.) but I still do not have keyboard anywhere. My Jolla runs 2.0.0.10 Sainmaa. I would not like to reimage the whole phone, if possible. Any help, hint, debug trick would be highly appericiated!

Upgrade your tohkbd application to latest version or uninstall it.

Hello Coderus!

Thank you for your answer!
The problem was not related to the PM, but was related to this package: https://openrepos.net/content/pengui...arian-keyboard

I have installed that in the past, but it had not had any effects (the Hungarian keyboard was indentical to the English qwerty). I have forgotten to reboot my device then, what I did now, so the keyboard disappeared. Swithching back to English layout and rebooting the device and it works again.

Analog clock is translated. I made a comment for one settings, for which I think I suggest a better translation than the "word to word" one.

Same here. Am in the process of creating an account but I hit one thing I do not understand. It asks me to choose between "localize my own content: software, website, app, documentation, etc" and "help translate a project that is already on Transifex". I can't do both?

You can't do anonymous translations for obvious reasons.

How can it be anonymous when I am creating an account?

Not the best experience. Bl**dy confusing. Maybe that's the point, to weed out the weakly.

Has to do with them selling accounts for non-open-source projects, I think, so people who just want to help are at least a bit less hassled.
