Correct me if I am wrong, but It doesn't seem to be a tracker issue here.
App won't even start.

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

Do other apps still work? If not, I'd suggest you to try Rebuild app registry from Utilities. Don't know why, but I have to do this every now and then, because something is crashing again and again. After that, reboot (automatically). If the Gallery app starts, but still no pics there, try that tracker reset again.

Sorry, if you said that before, I mised it. Too much context switching.

If that is the case, then you are probably right. The problem is in the corrupt installation, not the tracker database. Sorry, I cannot help much. Stock media player is one of the applications I tried and chucked away almost instantly. I did not like the stupid design. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

I use Filetug as my media player. Much better as it can play by a physical directory structure rather than tags. It works fine in Aurajoki.

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

Already tried rebuild.
All other apps work fine.
I realised many others have this problem.
I will try filetug.
Other file explorers I tried do not have continuous play or shuffle.

Guy's someone know how to disable/enable notificatons from patchmanager?
Thanks

get sources, add this functionality, make pull request, ask SK to merge your changes and compile new version.

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

I just *love* it when "open source" becomes an excuse.

I don't want to compile new version, just asked if it possible to disable/enable notifications (cli)... From you answer, probably not...

Propably stupid question, but is there also possibility to add thi to patchmanager? For example, when you swipe down, it would show this option also?

I noticed one thing that I found a little alarming. I couldn't see that it restarted preloaded services, but the option was still disabled in patchmanager. Maybe I'm totally wrong about this, so please correct me if so.

You should fix this.
And while we are at that, can some of you native english guys jump in?
Is unapplied even correct here? Should't it be "removed". I mean, we do apply screenprotectors but we remove them later.

ejjoman 2016-08-05 08:11

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

I think, unapply is correct, because you are not removing the patch (uninstalling the rpm).
Patchmanager uses unapply, too.

But I would use 'are' instead of 'is'.

I am not a native but I have consulted a few and the verdict is unanimous across the board: you are right!

I assumed that "remove" would cause an ambiguity because it could be interpreted as removing the package with the patch. But all my native speaker consultants said independently that to them, there is no such ambiguity. You "apply" and "remove" the patch in Patchmanager and you "install" and "uninstall" the patch package.

idea is good indeed, but implementation is 2/10
need to utilize proper dbus calls and signals instead of ugly js + suid + sh + python stuff.

It not restart preloaded services.. When it finish unapply, it close only settings app and start it again on Patchmanager page, that you can check if all patches are unapplied...

I use it as in Utilities app, if you can create good app, all of us will be happy. For now it enough for me.
New version later today, it should show this notification only if update exist.

Yes, that's what I thought. Doesn't preloaded services need to be restarted to really unapply patches properly? Well, the ones that depend on services, of course.

coderus 2016-08-05 19:40

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

nothing are need to be restarted if you just want to unapply patches to upgrade your system.

yep, like Coderus said, you don't need. Restarting services (lipstick), you just will see visual changes, fot system update you don't need it, just unapplying patches.

Hello ladies and gentleman!

ATM I use Fairphone 2 with Sailfish OS 2.0.2.48
After update to 2.0.2.48 i see, that some of the Patch Icons and the Patchmanager have smaller icons than the other Settings Icons. How i can change the size or scaling of the icons?

Yes, but this way is not Linux like...

I think, there must be an option for scaling factor to scale the icons for bigger resolution screen. Or am i wrong ?

pichlo 2016-08-08 09:26

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

The key in your case is the word "some". A casual glance at your screenshot shows that the stock icons are fine, the only affected icons are the third-party ones. That would indicate that the stock icons are either scalable or provided in various sizes, whereas the third-party ones are not. You can push the author(s) to fix it or you can fix it yourself.

eson 2016-08-08 09:46

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

Icons should be provided in sizes 86x86, 108x108, 128x128 and 256x256. Unpack rpm and see if they are.

coderus 2016-08-08 10:49

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

this is not about application icons, system icons are provided for zX.Y scaling factors, and currently devs are lazy to support that :D

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

Thanks to Ancelad, Ultimate statusbar patch and Analog clock have the right icons on FP2 now. Lets hope the other Patch Devs would implement this small cosmetic change too...

Ancelad 2016-08-08 22:43

Re: [WIP] App / Tweak: patchmanager a system-wide patching system + homescreen tweak

It isn't difficult at all... Just look into /usr/share/themes/sailfish-default/meegotouch, you'll see zX.Y-folder(s).
z1.0 - Jolla 1
z1.25 - Jolla C, Intex AquaFish
z1.5(-large) - Jolla Tablet (?)
z2.0 - FairPhone 2, OnePlus X

You should package all this folders with suitable resolution icons.

For tablet the folder name is: z1.5-large
The icon size is 72x72 if I remember right :)

Hi Schturman. Maybe you can tell us, which files we need to replace to have the correct size for the Folder icons setting and for the Patchmanager?

Or the needed icons are simply missing in the needed scaling factor?
In this case we need to use gimp, how Coderus said...

Thanks !
