maemo.org - Talk - Xiaomi MiKey put to use

Hi everyone, I'm not a developer, so any help to get started is greatly appreciated.
I went through Jolla tutorial, and can create simple app for sailfishos, so I'd like to do something...useful.
I own a Xiaomi MiKey, which is an headphone jack with a button on top. I'd like to put it into work, and since Jolla made headphones work with 1.0.7.16, I was wondering if there's a way to do it. So my question: is it possible to catch this sort of event and react (lets say, take a screenshot) using an app (no daemon or similar).
