Whatsup ask again to register
 
Hello every one,

I was using Whatsup without any trouble on my N9, and this morning, without having done anything special, Whatsup ask me to register again, like the first time you start the application !

Has anyone experienced this ?

How can I register again since Coderus SMS page doesn't work anymore !? It says :

Thanks bro, awesome keyword!!!

So here is what I did in case it could help someone:
1. Download WART
2. Open WART and follow instruction (don't try to use the password received by SMS in whatsup)
3. Modify the file /home/user/.config/cepiperez/whatsup.conf following these instructions by trayhoper:

2) Do not use double quotes in username
3) Use double quotes in password
4) Do not use 00's in your username.My country code is 90 in this example.( not a valid phone number btw )

Sorry for bothering with noob question, I've bought an N9 yesterday, tried to configure Whatsup and getting error too_old, I have the same error with Wazapp, any help?

Wazapp fails to start, just tried to reinstall it too, more it's not 0.9.22, but 0.9.17, found in Warehouse, maybe that's the problem...

Use whatsup, not wazapp.
since you just bought your N9 (congrats bro) i suggest that you take a look in the link i have put in my signature ;)

I try to explain, sorry for my english:
-have I to download Wart in my device?
-(if yes) how can I install it? (file browser, etc)
-the password is "Wart"? (if necessary)
-whitch file browser do you use?
-where can I find it?

As you can see I'm a real noob, but I'm very excited to start another adventure with my N9 (and N900) after few years with Android and few monthes with jolla. :)

You have to download WART on your computer (i used it on win7).
Start the .exe file.
Then follow steps ;)

To modify the config file in your phone once you have received the password (it not the 6 digit received by sms ;) ), you have to be in developer mode with nano installed.

Well, now I only have to search on what is developer mode for N9 and what is Nano :)

To activate developer mode :
1. Go in Parameters (translated from german)
2. Security (translated from german)
3. Developer mode (translated from german)
4. turn it on, and install "Utilities" (will give you access to terminal + install nano)

I'm givin'up, there are too much things I don't understand, using Wart and folowing instruction (I don't see intructions), what have I to write exactly?
I have used Simple Text to modify the file in /home/user/.config/cepiperez/whatsup.conf, but I haven't the first two lines, username and password.
I really miss something.

You have to add the first two lines in the wahtsup.conf file bro ! The file must look like the example in previous pages.

Ok, thanks for your patience, now I have another problem, Whatsup give me an error on Status (Status=error), have I to reboot or something? In Whatsup account setting I see my name is the number string I entered in .conf, can I put my nick? So, when I modify .conf, can I put my nick directly or I have to put that number string in any case? Last question, in .conf it looks language is in EN (english), can it write IT (italian)? I'm asking so much because I'll have to help a girl (noob like me) that will receive a N9 too.

Easy way
Download and install wazapp from
Wazapp.im

Install wazapp-path from openrepos.net

Open and register

If you want install whatsup and import profile from wazapp

That's it

Once Whatsup has started, you will be able to choose your name/language/other parameters.

BUT in the *.conf file, you must put your international number without + in front of Username, and the password you obtain via WART in front of Password.
Do this to edit your conf file:

I've edited with an app I've found in Warehouse, simple text, I've already put my cel number, but it don't connect even after reboot.

wazapp.im give me an error, I can't see the site from N9 and even from PC, I can't install from it.

I've tried to reinstall Whatsup, to redone the configuration with Wart, but after open the .config file, I've still the old password, I've edited it, but don't works. Whatsup don't works for me, Wazapp don't works, so I haven't Whatsapp. :(

EDIT: maybe the problem is the way how I edit the .config... I have to try from PC, but I don't know how to connect it and how to do it with root.

you can edit it on your pc.
but anyway, you have nothing to do as root ;) DO NOT EDIT *.config file as root.

+ your config file is way to long. Keep it as minimal as the example I gave you : 10 lines.

1) Backup and delete ALL yours whatsapp clients (and all this folders , files)
2) Install Wazapp 0.9.22

Can I delete all lines you don't have in your .config?
Now I try to uninstall anything, delete files and folders, then to retry.

does anyone have the complete installation of wazapp 0.9.22 because the one available is about 4.7 MB and during install tries to download about 17mb..

could someone post a standalone complete wazapp installer??

I have retried from the beginning again, I've edited .config with the app on my device because I don't know how to do it from PC, but it worked.
