Soon is a vague word. Never deliver vague words and expect zero backlash when that doesn't meet expectations.

Given that, my patience is not to be assumed either but in this case, I'm willingly giving it to Jolla.

Sidenote: Lastucase is pre-ordering those nifty wood-based cases that I missed on IndieGoGo on their site. That is probably next on my list to buy.

Is it possible that jolla employees worked so long in this project, like years, so they have lost contact with the reality of the end users? It's like we live in parallel universes. :D
Let say you have worked with sail from beginning it might be easy to think that "soon" is 3-6 month away...since its such a small amount of the overall sailfish life circle.

Let's negotiate some ground rules...:D
Attosecond != soon (don't even try to understand how fast this is...)
Picosecond != soon (its already there before you can think so...on)
Nanosecond != soon (it's simply to fast for jolla to handle)
Microsecond != soon (It's instant)
Millisecond != soon (more like instant)
Seconds == soon
Minutes == soon
Hours == soon
Days == soon
Weeks == Ok, let's be nice, soon works
Months != soon (only in jolla world)
Years != soon (not sure if jolla counting years as soon as well?)
Decades != soon (not even jolla could think so?)
Century != soon (nope, can't be...right?)
Millennium != soon !!!!

Astronomically speaking, "soon" can definitely be measured in years, and since you live on the moon, you should know better ;-)

Yes, and that's my point. If you work on something long enough...you might lose your perception of time and there for the meaning of soon changes.

Again... that's why you don't use words like "soon" in any marketing spiel that does not seem to be about to immediately happen.

But then again, it's still a sight better than what Nokia would announce and then deliver... "soon".

True, While we waiting for the missing blog post it would we really interesting to know if anyone @TMO is selected by jolla to receive a tablet this coming weeks...anyone?

doesnt matter. Dont really care about the device but rather info about it. its one month or more to shipment. a blog post a vid or sonething would be nice. in fact I think this will be the glorious week with the arrival of the missing blog post.

Last week, we released 1.1.6 software upgrade to all our users. 1.1.7 is
around the corner as well as 1.1.6 took longer to stabilize than usual.
With 1.1.7, you can expect
- Toolchain upgrade to GCC4.8
- Pulseaudio upgrade to version 6.0
- Python upgrade to version 3.4.3
- Perform filesystem maintenance checks before downloading the OS upgrade
- Option to allow Android app's background services to start on bootup
(Settings->Apps->[app_name])
- Option to force stop, clear cache and data of Android apps under
Settings->Apps->[app_name]
- Improvements to WLAN connection issues w.r.t Android apps
- Fixes to translation errors identified with 1.1.6 upgrade

During this iteration, our main goals are to have the new UI framework
in releasable condition and hunt down the critical issues blocking the
OS release for both phone and Tablet.

I'm starting to think there is yet another BIG problem with jolla, the tablet or the progress...over two months since jolla said they would explain soon via blog post what coursed the delay and what screen to use... Still not a beep!

Delay is imminent!
