Latest version of WhatsApp available for Android and iOS uses encryption (not sure about BB) that can be reason why you are not able to receive messages but can send messages.

What do you say about development client Telegram? There is open source code and good APIs. I wanted to write a client application in Java, but it would be better if the app will write in the native platform language.

this just won't do... can't take time away from this man... I got a new love in my life... I mourned long enough of my ex... 6 months... It was time to get busy and frisky again ;D So a few months ago I found me a sex powered and driven, loyal, devoted, faithful and true, good catholic chica from veracruz now ... who wants to marry me, cook with me (I do love cooking and baking), love me forever, and scrog me until I die of a heart attack. So good ol' Paully here ... (never thought I'd being saying this EVER...) good ol' Paully here reaaaalllllyyyy needs to stay in touch when not with her... sigh... so ... dammit.... I recant... Social media apps ARE truly necessary when one is in lust...I mean love..errrr.... both. she uses whatsapp to keep in touch with me.. and is more than happy to use an alternative.... so... sigh.. I NEED WHATSAPP OR AN ALTERNATIVE. as it stands.. I have been using (shudder) a cheap android phone... (boy... saying that leaves a horrible taste in my mouth..) to type ...um.. words of endearment back and forth with her.. when not together.. and it of course would be preferable to use my n900 instead. So man.... no rest for the wicked... get busy. (and of course .. I cannot say voice my thanks enough ... for everyone's kind words..and support through a very horrible time... enough of all the weepy crap. time to get lovin' hehe..) |

Nobody wants that Android crap anyway. SFOS on the N5 with sfdroid installed or multibooting NITdroid on the N900 could be the solution in your case. That project is about to get mature AFAIK.
