From Linux? Havent logged into Ubuntu lately. But fix the dependencies mate. Filebox is the ultimate tool to edit such things in N900 directly. Add missing repos if you havent.

I´ll try - but now logs-folder is away.

It hopefully will create a new one if I try to login yappari again - but where is the old folder?! I did

´mv logs /home/user/MyDocs´

in .yappari

and can´t find it anymore :confused:

In MyDocs is a ._ - what is that? can´t go into it...but folder logs isn´t shown there.

Logfile from Fam trying install Filebox: Any idea how to fix?


Furthermore Yappari does not create new logfiles!! I definately need back the old logs-folder....help :(((

Think I missed a ´/´ behind MyDocs when doing mv....now I need an expert :D There is also a .Trash-1000-Folder in MyDocs...whatever, no logs-folder - and I have no idea how to fix.

It's been known for a while now that 'spamming' people that don't have you in their address book or 'spamming' to people you don't have on your own address book can result in getting banned; so I believe that's probably what has happened to you.

On the other hand, it seems that group creation/management is not working.
This will be my next bugfix, as soon as I can fix it. Alongside that, I'll update serial numbers so they match latest official WA client.

And for now that is gonna be all. Maybe a little improvement in the UI, but don't expect much nor expect it soon, sorry.

Seems I missed :rolleyes: - yes, that could be the reason as I tried to write to persons only in my list through some groups created by others :o

And how long do they ban? Forever?

Annoying but not a real problem as I wanted to migrate to Telegram...

Beside that, have you maybe an idea how to get my old logs-folder back again (and open the logfiles)?

and I don´t think I need Yappari anymore :) :) :)

Sorry for you and your good work on Yappari - but Telegram seems to have much more and better functionality than Whatsapp....

I hope that everyone other will migrate to Telegram, too!

Pidgin. Looks very good for me...one or two buttons are a bit small and the Traysymbol is missing, which I hope will be fixed - but all in all it seems to work fine.

Don´t know about the functionality and if everything like videocalls and so on works...but I am able to write and thats what I want.

Using the same for Telegram too. Its waay faster and typing is really amazing there with that chat window UI. If somehow there could be a whatsapp protocol for pidgin itd be great. Or atleast sharing media plugins for telegram.

Well, I got today the time and I've just release version 2.0.14 with the following changes:

• Fix group creation
  Thanks for the report on this. It seems solved now.
  
• Separate record functionality from 'Send' button so it is more difficult to start recording an audio message by mistake
  
  Now, the Send button is only the Send button. There's a new button for recording audio that disappears when writing some text so the typing space is not reduced. I hope this solves the glitch that sometimes made us start a new recording unknowingly.

I hope you all enjoy this small changes :) It's already available at extras-devel and in a few hours will be available at extras-testing.

As far as I can see, you are the only one seeing this or at least reporting it. And as you seem to know wots wot, you will appreciate that is difficult to address.

How often does it occur? What do you do to trigger it (if anything). Stock n900, CSSU etc?

The quirk with the Send button was pretty common. Thanks a lot! Yappari is better fitted with each new release, and I really appreciate the effort you all put on it =)

It occurs roughly 10 times a day. Very easily reproducible.

There is nothing in particular that I do to trigger it, it just happens sporadically. I thought there may have been a correlation between the window being focused and the crash, but I have since debunked that.

This is stock n900, reloaded with 1.3 about 6 months ago.

If I am the only one experiencing this, I guess I'll debug it myself and give ceene a patch file. I don't have an n900 dev environment, that's all, so it means I have no quick way to compile the source, but I'll work on setting up a VM some time soon.

Can you verify with df -h that you have enough space on rootfs?

Yep, plenty of space. It has nothing to do with disk. As per the stack-trace, looks like a timeout exception.

it's my second ban, so for lifetime =((((((

maybe yaparri needs also an option to choose between "save contact" or "spam" when someone new writes to you

before you start yappari with your new number you have to delete the roster.db and better the chats.db from yappari folder as well....

if you don't do this Whatsapp thinks that you are spam because your contacts are not synchronized...they will kick you from server in less minutes

I noticed that when I start Yappari, I cannot see people I added recently in my contacts neither last groups I created or I was added.
Is anyone else noticing this behaviour?

Seems they banned me forever...don´t know.

However, have a look a Telegram and forget about that Facebook-spyware.

Everyone I showed it in the last days was fascinated about it, there is no reason to use Whatsapp anymore except almost every friend use it - but simply tell all of them about Telegram and make them change to Telegram, too!

Telegram has lots of benefits...the N900-Pidgin-version is in really early beta, but that will hopefully change if more people use it.

Everyone should give it a try in my opinion!

The Pidgin one is fast too. I am not sure how to download media from there. Have to look into some preferences. But seems much better than other IMs. If your not a whatsapp guy then Telegram for Pidgin is the best..... Atleast for time being.

If your contacts do not use Telegram, then you're basically ****t. :)
For example, in South Africa I have never heard anyone mention Telegram at all. I bet there are very few users. On the other hand, "everyone" with a Whatsapp-capable phone is on Whatsapp.

I am not advocating for Whatsapp, which I've never really liked to use, but, as a person you want a "network" where people who matter to you also use.

Not saying Telegram is not useful :)

@Ceene, Whatsup for N9 and Jolla never got this issues so far or no users got banned. Why not use the same protocols s40 ones like Cepi does. Can we do that?

Because it takes time.

I'll have to release a new version with updated codes that make Whatsapp think we are using latest S40 version, so maybe some of the errors reported above are solved.

coderus and others are writing libwa, which would unify all the different versions that are out there, and in an ideal world, yappari would be ported to use libwa instead of its own code.

Now, that would take quite a lot of time and effort, so it's not a question of being a technical imposibility but of man-hours.

Hello.
I am facing a probema using the yappari a few days ago. Two days, to be exact.
The application tries to connect and returns the following message:
"Connection closed by server." for ten seconds. Again tries to connect and returns the same message connection closed by the server. This way, I can not send or receive messages.
I am using version 2.0.14 Build 5215

Is there any solution for this?
