First of all, I want to tank you for this great app and wish you a good recovery from the depression.

Secondly, I'd like to list some issues I found. If any help is needed just tell me.

• Voice messages won't reproduce sometimes
• Any private message from a phone not registered in contacts can't be shown
• Phones not registered showed as Unknown on conversation gruops

Thanks for this app.
I've been testing it for couple of days.

There is this thing (as previously noted) that a message from someone not in your contacts list is not shown but actually seems to crash the app in my case. We were exchanging by email and at the moment he sent me a whatsapp message, the app crashed :p

And I have one contact I am unable to add in my list of selected contacts without any error or warnings (I love the fact that I can select and not upload my whole directory). Is it helpful to send some logs?

So at the end, that contact cannot send me any message and I cannot add him in my contacts. So we have difficulties to communicate via whatsapp :D (as I tend not to use android apps)

Coderus, even if you never write a single line to the Jolla again, thanks for your awesome work, and hope you regain your happiness!

It's hard sometimes to make a difference in this huge world, but you certainly did with all your awesome Jolla contributions :)

I personally wouldn't be half as happy with my Jolla if it wasn't for all your patches, apps, and tweaks. I probably would have just gone back to my previous android phone.

I've sent a small donation your way. I know it's not a lot, but I would suggest you buy a nice book to go and read on the park! I don't know if you have read it, but I really recommend the discworld series by Terry Pratchett. I recomend starting with "The Colour of Magic".
Or watch some crappy movies on the cinema. I wouldn't recomend the new Jurassic movie, but I enjoyed Tomorrowland.

I have a Jolla phone since some months and i like it but i want to use native sailfishOS apps and not the android ones... i have some questions about mitäkuuluu.

I need to uninstall android whatsapp to install mitäkuuluu or whatsup or just dont open the android version?

Are any risk of ban using mitäkuuluu or whatsup or this issues are fixed now?

development is continued, thanks. whatsapp started addding group chats encryption, so i'm busy implementing library backend features, no client updates until it will be implemented.

BTW, the most important reason for me not to use the official WhatsApp client is that they upload and store your complete address book without explicit consent or an option to turn this behaviour off. Even though my address book is on the whole completely uninteresting, I just don't agree. So for me it's either an alternative client that doesn't do this, or no WhatsApp.

Since there are plenty people around me who only use WA and would probably not really be very receptive me suggesting they install something else just to talk to me, this means that Mitakuuluu is a killer feature for me.

Obviously, there are many more reasons to like it! :D!

because they own whatsapp servers and can detect differences in applications behaviour.

Hello All,

I have had sometimes issues with mk3. Sometimes messages are not coming through.

For example today I checked my android WA (which is in the same group than mine mk3) and there was some messages that were not shown in mk3..

After long time not using mk3, it seems that it has been shut down. (I notice it this way that messages are not receiving and when opening mk3, it shows this authorization)

well, i can't help you without seeing logs. also you should remember, you can't receive messages from peoples not in your contacts.

Internal work of whatsapp can be closer to IRC sending version request to the client or something? This is just a comment i dont know anything about whatsapp works.

Ofcource I understand that you need logs. Sorry that I can use those :D

Is there possibility to make such option to mk3, that when you press send log, it cretes log and attaches log for example 12 hours before occurring?

(Propably very difficult, if not impossible)

BTW is there a way that I could check from some mk3 database, If someone tried to send me message that I haven´t received?

If I could check from the database, that I don´t have someone added to my groups.

Messages with this line will be deleted without checking.

if no attachment then means your log is not created, check this topic previous pages to get commands for creating logfile.

Hello,

I was trying to create log with touch command and log created, but it is not adding to the send log email.

But it does not matter.

I have followed mk3 through terminal (Started in terminal and let terminal on the backround) and I found that I was added to one group that I wasn´t known. (This was the reason that my mk3 was crashing...) Sorry coderus :)

In this group there was 2 person that was not in my accounts and this is why crashing and sometimes showing 1 to 2 messages received, but nothing in the conversations.

Solution was that I needed to add missing guys to contacts and then I needed to be remove from the group. Then adding back to group helped.

First of all: Thanks a mil for this application - the fact that you have control over which contacts are added is an absolute killer feature as far as I am concerned, so I donated as a token of appreciation!

However, just this feature is causing a little bit of trouble. I've installed 0.1.11 on 1.1.6.27, registered with WhatsApp, then added some contacts and everything was dandy. Later, I added two more contacts and that went fine, too. Yesterday, I tried to add yet more contacts (amazing who is on WhatsApp...) - but this failed. These contacts just don't get added. Any idea what I can do here?
If you need a log: Could you point me to instructions how to generate the log manually? I don't have a mail sending account on my Jolla (setting up fails with my server due to a bug in the mail app... :mad:), so I'd have to copy it over to a PC... Thanks!

Ok, the problem was a case of PEBCAC - those two contacts were from people who I was convinced that they had WhatsUp when in fact they did not. Hence, they could not be added. :D

Coderus, it seems like whatsup developement is going to end. Will you still keep maintaining Mitäkuuluu?? I'm afraid whatsup won't work forever without any maintaining, so some day Mitäkuuluu may again be the only working wa clien on Sailfish..

Same question here: as CepiPerez decided to throw the towel on WhatsUp after the legal threats (you can't blame him...)

Will you keep work on Mitakuuluu3 ?

You mentioned on whatsup thread that lots of whatsapp-alternative-client-devs are receiving such legal threats. (Did you receive a similar one ? Are you going to comply, or to try some alternative solution to go around the threat ?)

Well, if WhatsUp will not maintain and users will decide to continue donating for developing Mitakuuluu - sure.
And don't know what you asking in other half of your post. I'm only feeding my polar bears with fish and give them to drink vodka sometimes, then we playing on balalaika together and singing some random russian folk songs.

happy to hear u feel good...i ll make another donation in the next week. ah coderus i just have a suggestion-request since u have not implemented audio messages yet. nexus5 and other ports of sfos dont support .oog recording, but they are able to encode in aac fornat, wich is supported even by qtmultimedia..can u consider it in order to make that important feature available for all devices?

Hi,

Im having problems with registration with Mk3. Before i used Whatsup and after newest sailfish update i had to reset my phone. Now im trying to register Mk3 but im gettin error msg "Protocol version outdated"

Tried using reg code via Whatsapp, but it gives me error "registration code expired"

Installed whatsup and it works fine. With Mk3 i also tried importing account from whatsup but Mk3 says "unauthorized".

Wheres the problem? :)

Definitevely I lost my whatsapp account (I am yet "Not authorized"). I have two options:
1-Get another mobile number (i won't give my real number to Whatsapp Inc. or Facebook) and use Mitakuuluu again
2-Stop using whatsapp

By now, I am happily living with option 2.

Anyway, Coderus, thank you for all your work on this (and others) project.
