Seems that Pasi had success to implimate Speech Encryption on Jolla.

Source? Didn't find in github at least...?

Re: Speech Encryption on Jolla - seems to work

Doesn't look like it will be open source, which automatically puts a big warning sign on this, then again, if the parties they are discussing with include jolla (for the securesail), they should be able to negotiate source access for audit

Re: Speech Encryption on Jolla - seems to work

if it will use some GPL protocol, then it should be opensourced. Just waiting for news :)

Probably best for jolla would be to buy it, open source, throw schneier at it, contact snowden on reddit (username suddenlysnowden iirc), he should be able to ask a few good encryption guys to have a look, and bring encrypted by default calls between jolla devices for all, this would translate into quite a lot of sales

If encrypted calls between jollas were by default, no caring needed, just make sure they have a jolla before calling (and possibly ask them to not enable developer mode and install anything from open repos, this would be the attack vector)

Finland is safe... For now ;)
If jolla planning to provide encryption in russia they need to get approved by the Federal Security Service (FSS) of Russia before bring the products through customs. Not sure how hard this is. Maybe that was dicussed With the russian boss of Communication.

Re: Speech Encryption on Jolla - seems to work

Not sure if it takes too much work. But yes, notification to FSS is needed.

Ok, ffs! triple tinfoil hat on, but snowden (if it is him) during ama shilled redphone and textsecure apps, the post is no longer visible on his account, the only remaining info on that:
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/TextSecure
Is he a patriot that shilled NSA-penetratable apps (for the terrorist, his main goal being US peeps awareness of breaking constitution, without harming their success in preventing 9/11), or new info caused him to delete it??? fu..

edit: no, phew, the post is here:
http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comment..._under/crgjx6s
somehow missed it on phone, still the question remains if he knowingly suggests something NSA can tap into (with the US phone recording program being stopped from July, mission accomplished, constitution no longer broken, we still want to defend against terrorists, two layers of tinfoil removed)

You forgot the part when, following that quote, Lisa did take the phone and stated dialing 9-1-1. Suddenly no longer so blasé about it, Mr Burns panicked and snatched the phone back.

I wondered about that too. Seems that all nordic countries are missing from the wiki page, as well as other major european countries like Germany...?

Re: Speech Encryption on Jolla - seems to work

Our project SCB (Speech Crypto Box) is designed for our custom hardware, arm based device. This experimental project with Jolla was interesting possibility to bring this technology to already available Mobile platform. And it exceeded our expectations. Works like a charm, even it's technology (mainly UI part of it) can be further improved.

And yes, we believe only in source code. Even in extent that we doubt security of this solution on Jolla because end point security issues, where we have no visibility or there is known vectors to access memory space of system. That's reason why we love our 100% source built solution on arm based hardware (which you can find a image on some tweets on my account).

It depends on talks that we are currently in. We'll open this in near future.

I just remembered where I have seen the name "Pasi Patama".
He's the CEO of Trevoc which has a bit notorious reputation. Too bad really :(

I don't ever think it will be published to everyone. IMHO this is some private service anyway, so useless for average consumers.

Hmm.. I disagree :) But you are right that it is not directed to average consumers. Governments, intelligence agencies, etc.. have bought normal Jolla phones with their software for 8000e... :D

They told they might have plans to release this app for consumers.. ATM development of that SFOS app have started again by 3 people from community.. :)
